We are seeking committed and passionate Recreation Specialists to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our After School Programs. As a Recreation Specialist you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an afterschool setting. Requirements

Preferred: Commitment to a full school year, able to practice open, clear and consistent communication, commitment to participate in professional development.

This position is one of three Program Managers who oversee the Department's programs and services and will work closely together as a team providing opportunities for learning and collaborating within other program areas. The current vacancy is assigned to Willow Pass Community Center located within Willow Pass Community Park (Concord's primary sports complex). This position, along with other Department Program Managers, will be a part of a journey to review current processes, best practices, upcoming trends, and new technology to evaluate department performance and recommend ideas for improvement. We would love for you to join us and become a part of this dynamic team!</p><p>The Parks &amp; Recreation Department</p><p>The Parks &amp; Recreation Department is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and delivery of recreational and leisure time activities within the City of Concord. In addition to traditional youth, adult and senior programs, the Department also operates a Diablo Creek Golf Course, Camp Concord in Lake Tahoe, and schedules facility and picnic reservations. It also provides support to the Parks, Recreation &amp; Open Space Commission, the Concord Pavilion Community Outreach Committee, and the Commission on Aging. Conditions may involve attendance at meetings held during the workday and in the evenings.
