As a Exhibits Specialist GS-1010-12, with the National Park Service (NPS), your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Research, investigate and report data pertaining to historical structures for the purpose of determining their age and physical condition of all their parts.
Serve as project supervisor for work done by contract.
Advise the Contracting Officer, Project Manager, or Chief in the acceptance or rejections of work both of a historic and modern character.
Prepare reports, structural drawings, work drawings, historic structure reports or completion reports.
Follow safety programs, procedures, rules and regulations concerning proper safety equipment.
Review and report all incidents and takes immediate action to correct.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
An employment agreement must be prepared prior to the selectee entering on duty.
Selectee will be placed in non-pay status at the end of each identified season and recalled to duty for the next identified season in accordance with pre-established conditions of employment.
Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.

In order to qualify for the Exhibits Specialist, GS-1010-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service providing technical support in the stabilization, preservation, restoration, rehabilitation and reconstruction of historic structures which includes: planning, directing and executing projects dealing with fabric and structural integrity for historic structures, investigating and recording data pertaining to historical structures for the purpose of determining original condition of parts.
Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
