This position is located in the Historic Architecture, Conservation and Engineering Center of the Planning, Facilities and Conservation Assistance Directorate of the Northeast Regional Office.

  • THIS IS A CAREER SEASONAL POSITION SUBJECT TO FURLOUGH.

  • THIS IS A PERMANENT APPOINTMENT WITH ANNUALLY RECURRING AND PREDICTABLE PERIODS OF WORK FOR LESS THAN 12 MONTHS EACH YEAR BUT AT LEAST 6 MONTHS.

Responsibilities

As a Exhibits Specialist GS-1010-12, with the National Park Service (NPS), your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, investigate and report data pertaining to historical structures for the purpose of determining their age and physical condition of all their parts.

  • Serve as project supervisor for work done by contract.

  • Advise the Contracting Officer, Project Manager, or Chief in the acceptance or rejections of work both of a historic and modern character.

  • Prepare reports, structural drawings, work drawings, historic structure reports or completion reports.

  • Follow safety programs, procedures, rules and regulations concerning proper safety equipment.

  • Review and report all incidents and takes immediate action to correct.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • An employment agreement must be prepared prior to the selectee entering on duty.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the Exhibits Specialist, GS-1010-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service providing technical support in the stabilization, preservation, restoration, rehabilitation and reconstruction of historic structures which includes: planning, directing and executing projects dealing with fabric and structural integrity for historic structures, investigating and recording data pertaining to historical structures for the purpose of determining original condition of parts.

Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Other duties may be assigned. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Pull and ship HUB orders on time. * If HUB order can't be filled, call servicing store before next HUB run explaining how to reorder. * Working with store management team, complete all parts department cycle counts including OUTS. * Work with store management team to complete all parts department plan-o-grams. * Work with store management team to stock all parts department parts. * Work with store management team to complete all parts department callbacks. * Work with store management team to complete MAXI changes in parts department. * Comply with all federal, state and local laws. * Comply with all company policies and procedures. * Complete all required training materials, attend all scheduled store meetings. * At General Manager's direction, train and develop Team Members to help assure the HUB is operated according to company policies and procedures. * Coordinate through General Manager the delivery of product, maintaining inventories, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions. * Help to ensure compliance of established security, customer service and record keeping policies and procedures.
