Providence is calling a Exercise Specialist 2 (0.6 FTE, Days) to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR.

Schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday (8 hour days)

In this position, you will:

  • Deliver quality care for cardiac rehabilitation phase 2 and phase 3 clients.

  • Support the Heart and Vascular Institute primary and secondary prevention programs, educational classes, community presentations and other existing health education services

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor degree in exercise science or related field

  • Valid driver license and reliable transportation

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • 3 years of experience in outpatient cardiac rehab services

  • Proficiency in Basic ECG Monitoring

  • Expert interpersonal communication skills to facilitate the team process and coordinate with clients, physicians and healthcare professionals.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Masters degree

Please note the schedule for this position will be working various shifts between the hours of 5am - 6pm and rotating weekends. In this position, you will: * Register outpatients for laboratory services. * Obtain and enter into the computer appropriate demographic, insurance, medical information, billing number and medical records number. * Provide other clerical tasks in support of the offered medical services. * Obtain accurate and reliable blood and body fluid specimens from properly identified adult and/or pediatric patients. * Identify phlebotomy difficulties, define appropriate solutions and coordinate resources. * Maintain outstanding relationships with client, technical staff, patient and patient families.
