Department Description: Exercise Sciences is a thriving department with almost 1,500 undergraduate students majoring in Exercise Sciences or Exercise and Wellness.
Faculty research expertise is diverse and includes active programs in the areas of athletic training, biomechanics, exercise physiology, health promotion and orthopedic rehabilitation. The department offers MS and PhD programs in Exercise Sciences and a Master of Athletic Training program. The department is committed to providing high-quality teaching and mentoring experiences to undergraduate and graduate students.
Eligible candidates must possess a doctoral degree in Exercise Sciences or a related discipline, demonstrate strong potential to establish and maintain a focused research agenda and be committed to seek external funding to support their research program.
Applicants should have a strong desire to effectively teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the classroom and laboratory. Consideration will be given to individuals with expertise in athletic training, biomechanics, epidemiology, health promotion, human anatomy, motor control, orthopedics, physiology, statistics, or other areas related to exercise science.
Duties/Expectations: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
They will maintain an active research program and involve undergraduate and graduate students in their program. Their research program will result in 1) regular presentations at scientific conferences, 2) a consistent record of publications and 3) ongoing efforts to obtain external funding to support their research. It is also expected that they will be involved in university and community service and actively engaged with professional organizations at the regional and national levels.
Approximate starting salary range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
