Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

The Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be primarily responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the university operations, ensuring sound financial management, strategy development, and execution to support our strategic goals and drive profitability. Reporting directly to the University President will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial future and will collaborate closely with other senior executives.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.

• Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team.

• Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing key financial metrics.

• Oversee all financial operations including accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, tax, and audit functions.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal control standards.

• Manage relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks that could impact the company's performance or reputation.

• Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Including direct oversight of facilities, campus security, and student health services.

• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure prudent financial management.

• Collaborate with senior management to evaluate strategic opportunities, partnerships, and investments.

• Participate in merger and acquisition (M&A) activities including due diligence, integration planning, and post-merger financial management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or similar executive role in a publicly traded or large private company.

• Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial analysis.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Minimum Requirements:

• Advanced degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; CPA or CFA designation required.

• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance and administration roles, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position.

• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
