Job Duties

This position will support the Health Director of Crater Health District handling confidential information, scheduling and coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, recording meetings, reviewing and preparing documents and correspondence, coordinating the flow of information, often sensitive and critical, to and from the district staff, city and state government and agencies, local physicians and hospitals, patients, and the media. In addition, reviewing and/or preparing reports, coordinating projects, and records/data management.

Independently performs a variety of administrative activities in support of an administrative, technical, or professional staff member with district or office wide responsibilities or office-wide responsibilities that affect field or other work units. Work regularly requires discretion, interpretation of policies, procedures or processes and frequent interaction with officials.

May provide guidance to other staff as an information resource. Conducts research or assembles information and develops summaries in support of another administrative, technical, or professional staff member. May type, file, schedule appointments, make reservations, sort mail, and perform reception duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS applications.

  • Demonstrated experience in transcribing medical and legal information.

  • Ability to remain professional under all circumstances.

  • Advanced experience as an Administrative Assistant.

  • Possess robust organizational and record keeping abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Knowledge of State and/or City policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated experience handling confidential information.

Additional Considerations

  • Considerable experience and/or training in Health Information Management.

  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
