The Executive Program Manager (EPM) is a Project Management subject matter expert who manages and mentors project teams in project management best practices, enforces the sanctioned project governance process, and drives programs to function as one cohesive team in front of the Client. The Executive Program Manager will personally manage large, complex, high risk, recovery or strategic projects (or programs consisting of multiple parallel projects).

  • Review Project Scope against the documented business problems/requirements

  • Engages contracts and risk organizations as appropriate

  • Validates client requirements with Product and Sales organizations

  • Validates resource requirements against the project requirements

  • Establishes and Manages the project budget (P&L)

  • Level resources to provide for a realistic work plan

  • Verify task work estimates based on personal experience

  • Review resource costs based on project schedule and resource allocation

  • Ensure other costs for travel, products, materials, risk, are included

  • Support the established bid review process prior to the execution of any contractual documents

  • Partner with the Finance Organization to ensure every Project Manager to understand how to properly work within the T&E system.

  • Manages project risk assessment, quality assurance, startup, closeout, and recovery process

  • May work across many projects as a project management mentor to Project Managers and Program Managers to ensure project quality and results

  • Meet with Partner, presale consultant, project manager, sales specialist, centers of expertise, etc. to identify risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Be the SME for project management process, legal, resource, and business risks.

  • Do triage to identify potential Technical risks.

  • Facilitate engagement of SME's to assess technical risks and mitigation strategy.

  • Teach project managers and teams to do their own risk assessments.

  • Add to, and use, lessons learned repository of risks and actions.


  • Bachelor's degree in related field; PMI certification preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 80%.

  • 10+ years of field based Program/Project Management experience with a track record of proven success.

  • Effective at managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as attention to detail, ability to organize and present ideas in a compelling manner.

  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for deliverables.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with business users, technical teams, product and project managers, senior management and outsources service providers.
