Overview The Executive Medical Director is a key leadership role and will develop, implement, and lead the portfolio strategy and life cycle management planning across indications. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading cross-functional communication and collaboration across the organization to ensure the execution of global medical affairs strategy across all geographic regions ensuring a cohesive approach for the franchise. This role will develop and lead medical affairs activities ensuring partnership within the team (medical strategy, scientific communications and publications) and across all key Medical Affairs functions (Medical Excellence, HEOR, Field Medical, Medical Information) to ensure alignment and One Insmed approach.

Responsibilities Establish, and shape medical strategy for entry into new indications and across indications ​ensuring this fits within the overall company strategy and there is cross functional alignment. Development and execution of MA plans​. Ensure that strategy is reflected in medical plans and that these deliver on critical identified milestones in launch planning Medical leadership within the Medical Strategy team and provide input for cross functional partners including clinical development and commercial ​to ensure that there is a strong medical voice represented Think strategically to translate medical/clinical insights of treatment paradigms into growth opportunities, while driving competitive advantage Act as key scientific reviewer, provide leadership for company sponsored medical affairs research programs and external research, and lead the creation of a robust scientific education plan for healthcare professionals and other stakeholders as well as internal for global medical training, field medical leadership across all regions and HEOR. Build external relationship network for existing and new indications to help drive trial enrollment, launch prep and gain advice ​ Develop and drive data generation strategy working cross functionally including gap analysis, to evolve product data generation plans and ensure there is OneMedical strategy ​for existing and new indications encompassing a franchise approach Provide key strategic input into publication planning and review, medical backgrounders, FAQ and standard responses, internal training approach​ and data dissemination Propose future Medical Strategy team needs to advance programs as they progress Develop full thought leader engagement strategic approach and ensuing plan and provide strategic oversight to the cross functional medical engagement plans Deliver high quality educational presentations internally and externally as required Partner with Medical Strategy, Regions, HR and Finance to plan and manage annual budget for medical activities.

Ensure a comprehensive and synergistic approach by collaborating across Medical Affairs, Regions, and other functions including Commercial and Development. Drive a One Insmed and Franchise approach providing leadership, accountability and focus to the teams Partner with stakeholders to identify and integrate innovative ideas and best practices into strategies, plans, and activities.

Ensure compliance with all applicable Insmed policies.

Position Requirements (Required and/or Preferred Skills, Experience and Education): MD degree with previous leadership position in medical affairs with minimum 10 years experience overall Strong knowledge of Medical Affairs, understanding of launch planning required with track record of successful launches in previous 5 years Preferred experience in building a franchise approach in global medical affairs Essential skills include outstanding communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities, as well as the capacity to work with a high level of autonomy Proven track record as a leader in Medical Affairs including leading by influence in a matrix organization Proven ability to foster productive collaborations with internal and external stakeholders is essential Ability to work independently and to be comfortable to be the Medical Affairs representation ​ Global experience or experience in multiple regions an advantage Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and functions Strong attention to detail Strong strategic thinking with ability to connect multiple components Proven track record of effectively driving change Strong communication skills (written, verbal) Enables creative problem solving, encourages unique solutions, and effectively solves challenges problems Ability to travel domestically and internationally Travel: Up to 25% travel Travel Requirements Upto 25% Salary Range Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
