Title of Position: Executive Kitchen Manager

    Job Description: Our Back-of-the-House Manager is responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities including overseeing the entire operation of the kitchen. This person is expected to maintain the highest food quality to our guests. They are responsible for supervising and training the kitchen staff, overseeing all phases of food production, inventory, food safety and service and production time standards. The Back-of-the-House manager must also ensure the kitchen area meets the mandated laws associated with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

Kitchen Manager experience in a full-service restaurant is required
Extreme attention to detail
Culinary degree preferred

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: * Assisting culinary colleagues with general inquiries on a daily bases * Attend and record meeting minutes from Culinary and Sous Chef meetings * Support Culinary department on Hotel committees (Health & Safety, Planet 21, Heartist) * Attend BEO meetings, review & communicate group BEO's to appropriate parties * Organizing monthly meetings and field trips as required * Assist with department weekly schedules and changes * Assist with kitchen production (plate ups etc.) when needed * Keep track of colleagues performance reviews * Involvement with management of Rooftop Garden & Apiary * Managing all aspects of payroll preparation, distribution and tracking * Maintain positive relations with high contact and key departments within the hotel * Actively manage and communicate equipment needs and maintenance * Good understanding and updating of TAS (recruitment system) * Support the culinary recruiting efforts * Lead on-boarding of new colleagues with culinary standards and procedures * Good working knowledge of recipe management and costing through our Birchstreet program * Responsible for the management of all culinary purchase orders Qualifications: * High Schooldiploma * Culinary training/Red Seal certification an asset * Confident,well groomed with a pleasant telephone and personal disposition * Highly detailoriented with excellent communication and organization skills * Previousoffice experience, with a high comfort level with computer programs includingWord, Excel, Outlook and Birchstreet * Previousexperience in Food and Beverage or Kitchen Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): * Frequent sitting and working for periods of time in front of a computer * Occasional standing and walking throughout shift * Occasional lifting up to 20lbs Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in the United States or obtain proper authorization.
