The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) is hiring an Executive II - Systems Program Manager (Technical Director). This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, and implementing the Mechanical & Computerized Systems Program including systems for the theater and electronic exhibits, automated rigging, video, and audio ensuring the museum shows and other audiovisual components of the ALPLM run correctly. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of high-end, performance quality lighting, audio, electronics, and video equipment, and enjoys staying abreast of industry trends. Job Responsibilities
1.Serves as Systems Program Manager for the ALPLM
Manages, coordinates and implements the Mechanical & Computerized Systems Program including systems for the theater and electronic exhibits, automated rigging, video and audio.
Organizes, executes, controls and evaluates unit operations.
Establishes policies and operating procedures for the Systems Unit.
Organizes the goals and objectives of the program and plans for the efficacious utilization of program resources.
Manages, coordinates and evaluates the preventive and corrective maintenance, system upgrades, troubleshooting and repair of special effects, show mechanical, lighting, audio/video and show control systems.
Creates, programs and operates systems to support new or modified presentations.
Maintains and ensures compliance with the quality standards of the museum.
Manages the scheduling of staff to cover all opening and closing activities during museum operating hours and schedules staff to perform second shift maintenance and preventive tasks.
2.Production & Installation
Plans, executes, organizes, and coordinates the technical aspects and production of all special events including specifying, ordering and overseeing installation of all materials and parts used to maintain the fully operational electronic system environment.
Engineers temporary installations including budgeting, ordering, installing and programming operating equipment, lighting systems, and sound systems.

3.Serves as working supervisor.
Assigns and reviews work.
Provides guidance and training to assigned staff.
Counsels staff regarding work performance.
Reassigns staff to meet day to day operating needs.
Establishes annual goals and objectives.
Approves time off.
Prepares and signs performance evaluations.
4.Systems Oversight
Provides technical troubleshooting in diagnosing systems failures and provides immediate and long-term corrective action involving researching defective items/parts and instructional Information to complete the repair process.
Reads and interprets electronic, electrical and systems riser diagrams, technical manuals, architectural blueprints and circuit diagrams for state-of-the-art digital projection equipment and Microsoft Windows based show control software.
Conducts warranty management and maintains Journals of maintenance histories and logs of completed Inspections, corrective actions and repairs made and parts used.

5.Inspection & Maintenance
Supervises and performs daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections and preventive maintenance including testing, verification and/or calibration of applicable systems within multiple venues and areas of the museum.
Supervises and/or performs daily start up and shut up and shut down of exhibit show systems.
6.Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college preferably with courses in audio/visual technology and/or theater production.
Requires two years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Specialized Skills
Requires two years production experience in theater, touring or theme park troubleshooting and repair of complex electro-mechanical, audio/video and show control systems.
Requires experience utilizing custom software, fabrication, designs, and technical blueprints.
Requires proficiency in utilizing new technologies relating to all aspects of theater systems and in the use of manufacturers specifications and maintenance procedures.
Requires familiarity with standard/electrical test instruments, pneumatic compressed air systems, mathematical calculations used for electrical load and AC/DC electric/electronic systems and of entertainment rigging systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefers working knowledge of the principles of governmental accounting, program budgeting, personnel, statistics, and procurement.
Prefers ability to develop and manage a support agency program.
Prefers ability to analyze administrative problems and adopt an effective course of action.
Prefers ability to develop, install and evaluate new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards.
Prefers ability to maintain and safely operate theater machinery and equipment.

Requires ability to work at various times outside of normal office hours as needed.

Requires the ability to lift objects that may weigh up to 25 pounds.
