Executive Director, WVU Medicine Children’s Pediatric Blood Disorders & Cancer Center West Virginia University School of Medicine, the Department of Pediatrics and the West Virginia University Cancer Institute (WVUCI) seek an Executive Director of the Children’s Pediatric Blood Disorder and Cancer Center (PBCC).The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Duties: Serves as the physician executive for our Children’s Blood Disorder and Cancer Center leading programs at the state’s premier academic children’s hospital Collaborates closely with the WVU Health System (WVUHS) leadership, members, and affiliates to develop and support WVUHS initiatives Works with the Director of the WVUCI in programmatic development leading to a successful grant application for NCI Designation Works with the WVU School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center (HSC), ensuring alignment with educational programs and fostering a high-quality learning environment Involves strategic development of partnerships and networks to enhance pediatric and adolescent and young adult (AYA) oncology care in ambulatory and hospital-based clinical services Practice pediatric hematology/oncology actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers About the Pediatric Blood & Cancer Center (PBCC): The growing division includes three full time pediatric oncologists, three pediatric neurosurgeons, four pediatric surgeons, two advanced practice providers, two clinical nurse coordinators, two pediatric hematology/oncology pharmacists, two pediatric palliative physicians, two pediatric PM&R physicians, a neuropsychologist, a pediatric psychologist, a pediatric social worker, a clinical research associate and our PBCC facility dog, Rigatoni.
Our current growth also includes a separate Pediatric Blood & Cancer Center Inpatient unit in our new Children’s Hospital and an expanded PBCC Infusion center that is located in our new Children’s medical office building. Qualifications : MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent Eligible for state medical license Completed specialty a pediatric residency program, as well as hematology/oncology fellowship program Board certified in pediatric hematology/oncology Ten years’ experience clinically practicing in a children’s health specialty About WVU Medicine Children’s: Our new 150 bed Children’s Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff.
The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. About the West Virginia University Cancer Institute:
