Primary/Key Responsibilities
Conduct company sales and business development functions for assigned territory and seek new business that is consistent with the go-to-market strategy
Contribute to and implement sales selling cycle and methodology and stay up-to-date with Kaplan products and services and identify opportunities to offer and sell new products and services
Research and contribute to the development of target markets and go-to-market strategy and business development goals and objectives in assigned territory
Establish, implement and evaluate short and long-range business development goals and objectives in the territory
Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results, contribute to the development of systems, processes and account identification tactics and assure accuracy of data about new accounts and pending opportunities and report weekly on progress toward goals and objectives
Develop and drive key objectives and alignment between potential partners and Kaplan and collaborate with Research & Strategy to secure necessary assessments on program and institutional viability
Work with Regulatory / Legal and the prospective client to negotiate business terms; facilitate legal agreement development and execution
Inform assigned business unit and launch team about each new client and program(s)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Required
8+ years of higher education, online program management, non degree, credential and work readiness experience
successful and demonstrable track record in business development in higher education; experience working directly with Cabinet-level leaders required: President, Provost, etc.
Familiarity with and some experience in selling intangibles - selling solutions vs. products with a consultative sales process focus in the area of higher education helpful.
High degree of personal accountability and integrity.
Territory management expertise
Ability to develop solicitation strategies: write proposals communicate effectively, establish productive working relationships within the higher education sector
Excellent negotiation skills and experience developing and structuring agreements to support mutual win-win agreements
Demonstrated success working independently and on many activities concurrently.
Relationship builder - both internally and externally.
Results-oriented professional with strong work ethic.
Demonstrated success working independently and on many activities concurrently.
Outstanding interpersonal, written communication and strong/succinct oral communication skills.
