The Executive Director plans, organizes, and directs the daily business operations and hospitality services of the community. This position has accountability for budgeting and financial management, as well as all community business and hospitality services, including customer relations, concierge, dining, health and wellbeing, and environmental services. Together they ensure seamless integration of gracious living, hospitality and a commitment to unsurpassed holistic care and wellbeing.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in health care, hospitality services, finance, or related field required

  • Minimum of three years' of relevant experience in customer-oriented leadership

  • Previous hospitality management experience highly preferred

  • Possess compassion for and commitment to hospitality, service, and excellence in Senior care

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, profit and loss statements, and maximize revenue

  • Exceptional commitment to customer service and team member/ resident wellbeing

  • Strong leadership and management skills, including effective relationship building

In an initiative for the Juvenile Correctional System, sponsored by the Ministry of Social Development and the World Bank, Questscope developed one of the largest civic engagement programs in Jordan, training 4,000 student volunteers from Jordanian universities to mentor 6,000 young people in conflict with the law - at risk of delinquency and incarceration. From 2000, in an exceptional GO/INGO partnership, the Ministry of Education and Questscope introduced an accredited non-formal education program - unique in the Arab world - that has enabled thousands of out-of-school young men and women to continue their studies. In 2013, Questscope adapted the mentoring approach to the particular circumstances of young people displaced by war and violence in the Za'atari Refugee Camp. Questscope launched a Youth Center that has reached out to more than 2150 young people in the camp, completely led and directed by a core team of 40 visionary Syrian volunteers. Since its founding in 1988, Questscope has implemented successful mentoring, education, and emergency aid initiatives for thousands of disadvantaged youth, in partnership with USAID, UNICEF, UNFPA, the European Union, the World Bank and others. Questscope has created programs in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Northern Iraq, Yemen and Sudan. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Executive Assistant to the International Director (ID) works closely with the ID to provide administrative and organizational support, with the goal of enabling the ID to leverage his time effectively and accomplish/delegate tasks/responsibilities efficiently. The EA performs the duties of the position with thoroughness, discretion, and confidentiality. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES * Manages the ID's daily/weekly/monthly work schedule. Keeps the schedule up-to-date and notifies the ID of any changes in a timely manner * Screens/monitors all incoming calls/unscheduled visits to the ID's office. Takes complete and accurate messages and ensures that the ID receives them in a timely manner. Under the direction of the ID, the EA may respond to a message when appropriate. * Screens/monitors all incoming emails, letters and other communication to the ID's office. Under the direction of the ID, the EA may be asked to forward emails for action to appropriate persons and/or draft responses to emails, letters, etc. * Provides administrative support through composing and/or editing confidential correspondence, memoranda, contracts and proposals, etc.Will develop a Jordan QS Secretariat to facilitate and centralize administrative support to County Leaders and for Country Program strengthening. * Assists the ID in producing documents, writing research papers, case studies, concept papers, grant proposals, reports and presentations. * Assists with editing translated documents from Arabic into English into more proper English. * Maintains a well organized office system, including data management, filing, etc. * Works with the ID to prepare the ID's travel itineraries and ensures that itineraries (and changes as they arise) are clearly communicated to all concerned parties. * Works with the ID to arrange the ID's travel, hotel, and car reservations, etc. * Manages the Questscope Guest Schedule and ensures that accommodations, transport, meetings and events are organized. Coordinates with other staff or external partners as necessary. * Manages the ID's social networking site(s), ensuring appropriate and clear dialogue. * The scope of the Executive Assistant's role may be extensive. Additional duties may include: * Communication: Collecting and/or collating Jordan Project information, creating use-appropriate documents, and implementing related tasks in Jordan or sending these to the US office for use in reports, board meetings, fundraising activities, website publications, etc. * Taking on some of the ID's responsibilities and working more closely with management in executing tasks through cooperation and delegation. * Providing information for decision-making processes. EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED * Bachelor's degree in social sciences, business or other relevant discipline * At least one to three years' experience in international relief and development in a similar role KEY BEHAVIORS & ABILITIES SKILLS * Strong problem solving and organizational skills * Ability to multi-task and to be effective in high-pressure situations * Native level spoken and written English * Competency in both spoken and written Arabic, preferred. * Experience with international donors * Competency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Excellent communication (verbal and written) and team-building skills * Willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people * Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with other management and project personnel.
