Executive Director of Career, Technical and Agriculture Education
Position Purpose
To develop, implement, and evaluate the total CTAE program
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):
Strategic Goal Area I - Student Achievement
1.Exercise leadership in development and improvement of CTAE curriculum.
2.Monitor and evaluate the implementation of curriculum.
3.Engage teachers in the collaborative analysis of assessment data to plan for continuous improvement.
4.Lead teachers to accept collective responsibility for school improvement and the learning and achievement of all students.
5.Provide for professional learning that aligns with program improvement goals and supports student achievement.
6.Conduct analysis of instructional programs and materials for CTAE courses.
Strategic Goal Area II - Student/Stakeholder Engagement & Loyalty
1.Responsible for improvement of partnerships between school system, technical college, and business community.
2.Establish and maintain appropriate public relations initiatives.
3.Work collaboratively with business partners, administration, parents to ensure student success.
4.Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic Goal Area III - Efficient and Effective Organizational Processes
1.Develop policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with charter agreement governing the College and Career Academy.
2.Prepare and administer annual Local Plan for CTAE
3.Prepare and submit annual budget.
4.Develop and implement processes and structures that support a pervasively academic climate within a culture with high expectations for all students and adults.
5.Organize a safe, orderly, and engaging learning environment, including facilities, that reflects state, system, and local school rules, policies, and procedures.
6.Maintain an accurate inventory and accounting of county-wide CTAE property.
7.Coordinate upkeep of CTAE facilities, equipment, custodial services, grounds and buildings.
Strategic Goal Area IV - Continuous System and School Improvement
1.Communicate with Superintendent and CCA Board of Directors as necessary and/or appropriate.
2.Attend professional meetings, conferences, and workshops to maintain professional knowledge/skills.
3.Recruit, select, and hire highly qualified and effective personnel.
4.Retain effective personnel by ensuring positive working conditions.
OTHER EXPECTATIONS
1.Serve as CEO and Principal of the College and Career Academy.
2.Supervise Coordinator of 12 For Life Program.
3.Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia.
4.Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance/timelines.
5.Complete assignments and requirements on time and in compliance with directions.
6.Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly.
7.Maintain confidentiality of information and records for students and staff.
8.Communicate effectively with students, peers, administration, parents and public.
9.Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with students, peers, administration, parents and public.
JOB STANDARDS (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions):
1.Master's Degree or higher in administration and supervision
2.Vocational Directors endorsement or Complete CTAE New Leaders Academy
2.Minimum of five years teaching experience in CTAE field
3.A minimum of three years as assistant principal
4.Such alternatives to the above as the board may find appropriate and acceptable
