Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a full-time, 12 month position for a Executive Director of the Center for Career & Professional Development.

Job Description:

The Executive Director of the Center for Career & Professional Development is responsible for providing innovative, strategic, and collaborative leadership for integrative and holistic development experiences that prepare students to lead and succeed in their pursuits during and after their time at F&M. The Executive Director reports directly to the Vice President for Student affairs. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive programs and services to support the career growth and success of F&M students and alumni.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise the Director of Employer & Community Partnerships, Director of Legal & STEM Professions, Director of Health Professions Advising, Director of the Ware Institute for Civic Engagement, Director of Career Development, Director of Student Employment, Student & Alumni Development Operations Coordinator and Leadership & Employee Partnerships Coordinator.

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for experiential learning and career & professional development initiatives aligned with individual student needs and divisional and institutional strategic priorities.

  • Work with directors to ensure that assessment processes and data collection are aligned with organizational goals and designed to address programmatic, undergraduate and graduate outcomes.

  • Ensure implementation and delivery of innovative programs and services that are aimed at helping students fulfill their goals during and after their graduation from F&M.

  • Initiate and build effective working relationships with key departments, administrators and faculty members to ensure a collaboration in regards to working with students around experiential learning, career and professional development.

  • Report and communicate about career and professional success as it pertains to their impact on F&M students and alumni.

  • Communicate effectively and facilitate professional development workshops and presentations pertaining to all areas of Student Engagement.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Career Development, Counseling, Student Affairs or related field.

  • 5 or more years of progressively responsible experience within Student Affairs.

  • Experience supervising full-time professional staff.

  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive)

  • Evidence of a commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

  • Successful interview.

  • Successful completion of background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Career Development, Counseling or related field.

  • 7 or more years of progressively responsible experience within Student Affairs.

  • Prior experience in Career Services in an institution of Higher Education.

Additional Information:
