The Executive Director of Strategic Accounts builds, drives, monitors, and executes selected key account initiatives and special projects and supports the Company's existing sales and marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates large customer activities with all departments including, finance, commercial, technology, and operations. The objective is to maximize customer satisfaction and compliance while optimizing sales and profitability.

  • Assesses and communicates specific account needs to appropriate individuals within the Company.

  • Manages the day-to-day activities and questions from customers and the organization.

  • Researches and proposes ways in which to retain/tie corporate customers to through various unique services.

  • Maintains an accurate listing of key customer groups and identifies threats and opportunities that exist.

  • Effectively manages expenses and profit margins for the Company.

  • Prepares responses for Requests-for-Proposal and presentations for large customers and groups, in conjunction with accounting managers.

  • Acts as point person (or "Spearheads the process of") for renegotiating assigned current key customer agreements, including new agreement proposals and gaining consensus with the customer and internally with management/legal. Works for promote and maintain positive vendor relationships.

  • Approves and provides oversight on vendor reimbursements, price lists, and rebates. Provides accurate records and summaries to executive management and accounting.

  • Executes focus vendor initiatives with large groups where applicable, and negotiates Group vendor agreements in conjunction with Group Management.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Animal Health Care; prefer MBA (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in the distribution industry, preferably in the animal health care industry. Ten years of experience in marketing and sales with a minimum of three to five years at a Regional Manager, Director, or Vice President level.


  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; working knowledge of Access and As-400 systems

  • High level of involvement in trade associations

  • Ability to effectively direct and motivate the performance of others

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively delegate and mentor staff

  • Proficient in key business areas of sales, marketing and finance

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Must possess strong oral and written communication, presentation, organizational, and negotiation skills

Our goal is to grow by more than 1,000 restaurants by 2024, with a total footprint of more than 1,500 restaurants outside of the U.S.As a part of the Global Strategic Development & Analysis team, the Geographic Information System (GIS) team seeks to provide data that can be visualized and analyzed to drive strategy and support decision making for restaurant development across the world. In this position, you will report to the Manager of GIS and help to establish how data is accessed, organized and analyzed to meet business partner needs and deliver insights across the organization. A successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of geospatial data analytics, with exposure to coding (e.g. Python, SQL) and data visualization (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik). Specific Responsibilities Include * Administers and maintains Wendy's Enterprise GIS systems and tools including all data and user administration tasks. Creates and maintains web applications and demographic reporting templates for use by the broader global development team to function in both PC-based and mobile device formats. Works with manager to create training plans for GIS users. Trains and supports GIS system user base through a variety of different formats. * Uses geographic knowledge to analyze large geospatial data sets and develops the methods to translate the data and analyses to answer business questions. Assesses and implements various spatial data sets into Wendy's Enterprise GIS system in order to create and enhance GIS-based tools for use by the broader global development team * In partnership with manager and global development team, coordinates the execution and evolution of global Market Planning. Leads the development and refinement of the geospatial tools and templates related to global Market Planning. Compiles and creates select components of the market plan including required mapping and visualization, as well as relevant demographic and business analytics. Works with global development team to identify opportunities within the market and evolves or creates geospatial tools as needed to help inform growth opportunities. * Creates and executes recurring and ad hoc Global Development related mapping, reporting, and analysis. Analyzes data, draws conclusions and prepares recommendations regarding new restaurant development, relocations, and closures. * Partners with IT to create, implement and maintain critical development tools to assist global development in tracking and managing data related to new unit restaurant growth.Assists manager in critical global spatial data acquisitions through targeted research efforts and data testing.
