Executive Director Of Professional And Continuing Education

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• A minimum of six (6) years of experience in business management and operations to achieve organizational goals plus two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.
• The ability to demonstrate an understanding of how acquired experience is relevant to the higher education context.
• Strong understanding of workforce development needs across sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with executive-level employers.
• Expertise to link workplace continuing education needs to University noncredit program development
• An entrepreneurial mindset.
• Keen business mind with an understanding of how to create and manage multiple diverse revenue streams.
• Ability to integrate technology with administrative functions.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Five (5) years or more of administrative experience in higher education .
• Experience in collaborating with academic units to develop continuing education offerings based on market trends and strategies for attracting and retaining continuing education students.
• Understanding of current trends and future directions in continuing and professional education.
• Track record of creating, growing, and managing high-enrollment and revenue generating noncredit programs that meet the needs of adult learners.
• Knowledge of and implementation of registration platforms.
• Knowledge of and experience with the Banner and Moodle platforms.
• Experience with online delivery of course materials.
• Experience in non-credit program development, both in-seat and online, with multiple campus units and corporate clients.
• Evidence of successful external relationship management, including with corporate clients.

Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
