ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES NEED THE FOLLOWING: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or public administration, engineering, facilities planning, or construction management. Four years of increasingly responsible experience in three or more of the following disciplines: facilities construction, maintenance and operations, contract administration, finance or accounting, pupil transportation, or warehouse administration. At least three of the four years required experience needs to be in a supervisory level in any of the following disciplines: facilities construction, maintenance and operations, contract administration, finance or accounting, pupil transportation, or warehouse administration.

Master's Degree Desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California Driver's License Class C.

WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT: Working around machinery, moving vehicles, construction sites, office and outside environment.

ELIGIBILITY LIST: An eligibility list will be created from this recruitment and will be good for one year or until the list is exhausted.

It will be used as follows: 1. To fill the current vacancy 2. To fill future permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list; 3.

To create a list of substitutes for the current class and other related classes. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees.

Once the recruitment closes, updated documents such as resume will not be accepted/replaced. APPLICANTS THAT MOVE FOWARD TO THE INTERVIEW PHASE will be required to present three (3) letters of reference at least two business days prior to the interview by 5:00 pm. The letters must be dated, signed, and written expressly for this recruitment attesting to the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and successes.

Letters should include the addresses and telephone numbers of the references. Failure to submit the letters by the deadline will disqualify the applicant from the interview phase. EXAMINATION PROCEDURE:

The examination process will include the following: 1. Screening of applications to determine completion and meeting the minimum requirements. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements and whose application was complete at the time the recruitment closed will move to the Examination Process. 2.

Qualified candidates will receive a Notice of Examination via Edjoin/email. Following are the details: Qualification Appraisal Interview/Oral Exam:

This exam will evaluate your qualification, education, experience, training and suitability. Please be advised that oral examinations require that it be recorded. The designated passing score is a minimum of 70%. The weight of the oral exam is worth 100%. The date of the exam is TBD.

Applicants successful in the examination process will be placed on an employee or an outside applicant eligibility list by rank order of their examination score. This score will include seniority credit or veterans points if applicable. Both lists are good for up to one year and are updated due to continuous examinations or employment status during the life of the eligibility lists as needed.

SELECTION PROCEDURE Merit Rule #50.100.2 (B) Any permanent classified employees of the District who voluntarily resigns from his permanent position may be reinstated or reemployed by the Board of Education of the District within 39 months after his last day of paid service and without further competitive examination, to a position in his former classification as a permanent or limited-term employee in a related lowers class in which the employee formerly had permanent status. If fewer than three ranks are available for certifications a new examination/recruitment may be requested and conducted. Merit Rule 50.200.4 (B). Please note that if a new recruitment is requested and conducted, you will maintain your examination score however, your rank may change as a result of subsequent recruitments.

The scores of new eligible applicants from subsequent recruitments will be merged with the initial eligibility list. POSITION REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Principles and practices of an organization, management, budget preparation, expenditure control, personnel administration, supervision and training.

  • Principles and methods of school facilities planning, funding, modernization and construction.

  • Principles of school and contract law relative to public work projects, public contracting, and public purchasing.

  • Principles of fixed-asset, real property, and inventory control management.

  • Procedures and techniques of operations analysis, records development and management, and statistical analysis.

  • Collective bargaining law and labor agreements for public agencies.

  • Applicable concepts of progressive discipline.

  • Procedures and practices, processes and materials utilized in the maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds.

  • Current practices, processes, and materials utilized in the custodial, pest management, gardening, and tree maintenance fields. ABILITY TO:

  • Plan and coordinate a variety of technical facility planning factors.

  • Formulate and implement program goals, objectives, and schedules.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of organization and staffing procedures.

  • Collect and analyze data and be able to make PowerPoint presentations in front of large groups of people.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with officials of public and private organizations, employees, co-workers, and the general public.

  • Analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and implement plans to solve problems.

  • Interpret laws, regulations, and district policies that affect contracts, general goods and services, and professional services contract procedures.

  • Direct and supervise a large number of personnel in a variety of crafts.

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Make and review decisions objectively.

  • Operate a computer and associated equipment.

  • Read architectural plans.
