Required Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Advanced degree: Master's degree in Education, Human and Social Services, Business, Communication or related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of related experience or equivalent

Skills:

  • Demonstrated exemplary skills in the following areas: communication, interpersonal interactions, organization and multi-tasking, time management, budget management, and writing.

  • Development of MOUs, agreements, contracts, and short- and long-term program plans.

  • Ability to make significant independent programming judgements and decisions.

  • Ability to compile, collect and analyze data for program review and reporting.

  • Sensitivity to ethnic, socioeconomic and communication diversity.

  • American Sign Language skills or willingness to learn to be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of prospective DHH students and individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency/Fluency in American Sign Language communication skills strongly preferred.

  • Doctoral degree

  • Preferred experience in supervision, managing multiple budget accounts for multiple projects, and marketing/sales.

  • Understanding and knowledge of RIT Admissions requirements, RIT Global Risk Management policies and state Vocational Rehabilitation policies

  • Experience in STEM fields and subjects.

Job Summary

Please note: Some travel is required. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Oversee NTID's Division of Admissions, Outreach and Special Projects including supervising directors of the four departments within the Division: 1) Admissions, 2) Pre-College Outreach Consortium, 3) Project Fast Forward, and 4) NTID Regional STEM Center, in partnership with Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind.

Responsible for overall management and supervision of four departments within the division. This includes strategic planning, data management and reporting, budgeting, contracts development and personnel.

A primary focus of this position is on expansion of the pipeline of prospective deaf and hard of hearing secondary school students to RIT/NTID programs. This includes sharing NTID resources externally through offering various programs and activities, professional development, dual credit courses, and related opportunities for secondary students and their families, educators, vocational rehabilitation personnel, access service providers, and other professionals working with such students. Many of these initiatives have a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Work in synergy with multiple departments and programs within and outside of RIT/NTID including but not limited to: NTID Office of External Affairs, NTID Academic Affairs, NTID Marketing and Communiations, NTID Co-op and Career Center, schools for the deaf, and state vocational rehabilitation agencies to achieve programming goals.

Additional responsibilities include the expansion of regional and national STEM programming for DHH students; formation, implementation and monitoring of NTID's Strategic Plan; and leadership of special projects. Member of NTID Administrative Council, reporting directly to the NTID President.
