Duties & responsibilities:
o Native American Advancement and Tribal Engagement: Spearheading initiatives to enhance the university's reputation as a leader in serving Native Nations, both within and beyond Arizona.
o Representation at National Conferences: Showcasing achievements and fostering networks at national conferences to expand the scope of services offered by the university's Native American Advancement and Tribal Engagement (NAATE) department.
o Partnership Procurement: Actively seeking partnerships with Native Nations located outside the state of Arizona to broaden the university's reach and impact.
o Collaboration with Campus Partners: Working closely with senior vice presidents (SVPs) and other campus partners to ensure alignment and synergy in advancing Native American initiatives and priorities.
o Engagement with Communications and Government Relations: Collaborating with communication and government relations teams to strengthen partnerships with governmental entities, enhancing the university's ability to serve Native Nations effectively.
o 12% Tribal Funding (Tribes in AZ)
o National Corporate Gift Giving: Tribal, Federal, State and Non-profit entities
o Unity Plaza
o Native American Student Learning Center
o Tribal Micro-Campuses and Cooperative Extension Offices located on Tribal Lands
Manage and oversee tribal micro campus model, future implementation of tribal micro campus and Native FORGE program (tribal entrepreneurship). This includes main point of contact for the Economic Development Administration University Center, Johnson Scholarship Foundation and other foundations/contract/gift giving.

Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Extensive knowledge of pre-planning, construction management and implementation of physical facility.
Extensive knowledge of practices and procedures associated with building relationships with tribal communities.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including, but not limited to elected tribal officials.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Skill in public speaking and presenting information to executive leaders, Tribal Councils, and/or tribal representatives.
Ability to operate a vehicle and/or golf cart.
Ability to travel in-state, nationally, and internationally.
