Morphic is advancing fully-owned oral integrin therapeutic candidates with the initial clinical trials beginning in 2020. Our immediate focus is on the areas where the clinical activity of antibody inhibitors of integrins is precedented, thus enabling a rapid path to clinical proof-of-concept.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, the Executive Director of Medical Affairs plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between clinical development and commercialization in Morphic Therapeutic. This strategic leadership position is responsible for managing the Medical Affairs acthities to ensure the scientific integrity and commercial success of our product portfolio. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of clinical medicine and the biotech industry, combined with strategic acumen and the ability to drive innovation and excellence in medical affairs activities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the global medical affairs strategy in alignment with the company's overall business goals. Drive initiatives that enhance the product value proposition through scientific evidence and

stakeholder engagement.

  • Scientific Integrity: Ensure the highest standards of scientific integrity and compliance in all medical affairs activities, including publications, medical education, and scientific communication.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between clinical development, regulatory affairs, marketing, and sales teams. Facilitate the integration of scientific knowledge and market insights into product strategy and execution.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead engagement with key external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, patient advocacy groups, and regulatory bodies, to foster partnerships and collaborations that support the company's mission and product portfolio.

  • Evidence Generation: Oversee the development and execution of clinical trials, real-world evidence studies, and other research initiatives to generate data that supports product differentiation and value.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Advanced degree in a life science discipline (MD, PharmD, PhD) with a strong clinical or therapeutic area expertise.

  • Significant experience (10+ years) in medical affairs within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including extensive leadership and team management experience.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing global medical affairs strategies that align with corporate objectives.

  • Proven ability to effectively engage with medical and scientific communities, healthcare professionals, and key opinion leaders.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts and data to diverse audiences.

  • Strategic and analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
