Position Summary:

The Executive Director of Investor Relations will report directly to the SVP Corporate Affairs and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer. This individual will lead the investor relations engagement strategy to build relationships, engage new prospective investors, and ensure the investment community understands the Company strategy and financial position. Rigorously and proactively assess the positioning of the Company in the marketplace and track industry and comparable company trends. Play a key role in corporate strategy initiatives, evaluating opportunities and risks of prospective organic and inorganic investment alternatives. Possesses the energy, drive, and ability to execute. Is flexible, agile, resilient, and adaptable to a rapid-paced executive-level environment. Embraces personal leadership development to pursue leadership range and flexibility. Enjoys and excels in tackling increasingly complex strategic business challenges-incorporating the newest ideas, technologies, and approaches to business.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Be an integrated member of the Corporate Affairs team responsible for helping shaping and driving Crinetics' corporate reputation with key stakeholders.

  • Develop and lead the planning, direction, and execution of the company's strategic Investors Relation plan.

  • Lead the development of strategic positioning and investor communications activities to achieve corporate growth objectives and drive value creation.

  • Originate, manage, and maintain all investor-facing materials, including the quarterly earnings process: press releases, corporate presentations, data presentations, conference call scripts, key talking points, Q&As, etc.

  • Provide periodic and regular strategic insights and market intelligence to assist senior leadership in understanding relative performance and positioning.

  • Assist CFO for purposes of assessing capital needs and managing the execution of any capital-raising initiatives.

  • Cultivate a high-performing team and foster a culture focused on delivering results, optimizing stakeholder influence, and enhancing leadership development for career progression.

  • Manage a strong corporate reputation by demonstrating proactive, consistent, and clear communication between internal and external parties.

  • Provide independent on-going, direct interface with the investment community to help educate institutional investors and research analysts regarding the Company's business strategies and outlook, and differentiation as an innovator in the biotechnology industry.

  • Refine messaging and market positioning based on company performance, market perception, expectations, peer performance.

  • Guide the evolution of our investor base as we move closer to commercialization.

  • Manage sell-side equity research analyst relationships.

  • Manage buy-side investor relationships.

  • Provide insights on and present them to the leadership team.

  • Prepare executive management for investor events; accompany senior executives at investor conferences and be a resource for information.

  • Analyze market activity, financial trends, competitive landscape, shareholder issues, and anything else that could impact the business:

  • periodically present findings to senior management team.

  • message and manage the external relationships that may be impacted.

  • Work with legal counsel to ensure compliance on regulatory matters.

  • Partner with Legal and Finance to help prepare the company's quarterly reports and Annual Report and 10-K.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of 15+ years' experience in Investor Relations, Finance and/or Wall Street Knowledge of Capital Markets, with a deep understanding of financial markets, and a minimum of 12 years in a supervisory role.

  • B.S. Degree. Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MD, PharmD) strongly preferred but not required.

  • Strong background in financial modeling, financial reporting, and biotechnology/pharmaceuticals

  • Exceptional oral and verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively tailor communication to a broad collection of external and internal audiences.

  • Ability to translate complex scientific and business matters into easy to communicate messaging to keep all parties aligned on strategic results.

  • Strong understanding of SEC laws, securities disclosure requirements, and filing requirements.

  • A strong understanding of macroeconomics, capital markets trends, competitor activities, industry dynamics, and customer trends.

  • Established relationships and credibility with investors, analysts, management teams and other key biotech/biopharma industry stakeholders.

  • Strong work ethic with flexibility to work in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Flexible schedule to accommodate bi-coastal stakeholders and internal teams.

  • Ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Superior judgment and ability to demonstrate adaptability to individual needs while not compromising the integrity of the organization.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this job. Laboratory Activities (if applicable): Biology and chemical laboratory environment experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.

Travel:

You may be required to travel for up to 40% of your time.

The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $240,000 - $300,000

In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. We also provide top-notch health insurance plans for employees (and their families) to include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
