Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Co-Chairs of the Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department (CCB), with a dotted line to the Administrative Dean for Science, the Executive Director leads the Department in the development and implementation of best practices in all departmental operations and is responsible for all department functions, including: budget and business operations, human resources, education, faculty and academic affairs, research policy and compliance, sponsored research administration, research operations, instrumentation service centers, laboratory safety, and IT/computers. Analyzes and synthesizes information and produces reports and recommendations for the Co-Chairs and other University leaders. Contributes to committees and working groups at School and University level as needed.

If you are an innovative and collaborative professional, come join us!</p> <p><strong>PURPOSE OF THE POSITION</strong></p> <p>The Sales Executive is responsible for generating leads which develop into new clients, creating business partnerships, and overall sales of SmartLabs products and services. This role will execute key growth sales strategies and action plans while achieving financial targets and following budget guidelines while developing and maintaining long-lasting relationships. This is a very extensive position which focuses on growing the business with short and long-term initiatives and goals. A portion of this role with be the ability to develop, influence and contribute to the organization’s overall sales strategy. </p> <p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <p><strong>Sales Strategy and Implementation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Research the target market to find new companies to reach and build a sales pipeline to ensure a constant stream of sales.</li> <li>Execute appropriate sales strategies, implement sales programs by developing each product and services action plan.</li> <li>Orchestrate communication through all stages of the deal, from initial contact through close, with support from legal and management as needed. </li> <li>Attend meetings with potential clients, creating/modifying presentations and proposals, closing sales, and managing agreements.</li> <li>Following up with new leads and past clients to cross-sell products.</li> <li>Proactively identify and solve client issues quickly and strategically.</li> <li>Contribute to corporate standards and operating procedures, leverage appropriate technology benefits to drive sales and increase productivity.</li> <li>Generate an updated presentation and reports of opportunities to management on a weekly basis and/or as needed.</li> <li>Contribute to events and conferences that support marketing and sales opportunities. </li> <li>Source for leads and convert leads to new client appointments, then close and manage agreements.</li> <li>Proactively identify and solve client issues quickly and strategically.</li> <li>Existing Client Account management will be part of this role. </li> <li>Source new pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients who need either immediate, short-term, or long-term laboratory and/or office space. </li> <li>Deliver strategic fundamentals of our life science program, including vivarium, manufacturing, diagnostic, and other program elements that involve a space license.</li> <li>Communicate and sell services that expand on the value proposition of SmartLabs for clients and external sales partners.</li> <li>Establish a referral network with local businesses and find ways to maximize value from those connections.</li> <li>Source for leads and convert leads to new client appointments, then close and manage agreements.</li> <li>Proactively identify and solve client issues quickly and strategically.</li> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Science, or a related field. </li> <li>Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Tech, Pharma, Services or Real Estate sales would be preferred, <a rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external">preferably working as an individual contributor or having a quota and managing sales </a>goals.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.</li> <li>Proven ability to drive the sales process from creation to close and articulate the distinct aspects of SmartLabs products and services.</li> <li>Previous new business experience ideally in a sales or consultant role, and track record of bring in new business with a natural ability to drive new partnerships and sales.</li> <li>Must be self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.</li> <li>Soft skills – negotiation, problem solving, good judgment, resilient and effectively manage pressure; remain optimistic and persistent, even under adversity. Recover quickly from setbacks.</li> <li>Enjoys nurturing client relationships and creating lasting impressions with a passion for developing client-focused solutions that meet the needs and consistently exceed expectations.
