Executive Director- GFS Finance

Position Overview

Reinsurance in itself is unique. It's a specialized segment of the industry that's exciting and not bound by the same conservative restrictions of the direct market. RGA is proud to lead the reinsurance industry, but the company also is thinking beyond this segment. RGA is focused on leading the entire life and health insurance space.

The Executive Director, GFS Finance will apply accounting expertise and broad business knowledge to lead the management reporting and financial analysis for the Global Financial Solutions division, including responsibility for the development of the annual financial plan in collaboration with other functional areas.

Responsibilities

• Leads the preparation of the quarterly financial results for the Global Financial Solutions division, including analysis of financial results based upon business and economic drivers

• Manages the development of the annual financial plan in collaboration with GFS leadership and partners across finance, actuarial, investment, and risk management functions

• Develops, implements, and refines management analytics and reporting for GFS, including identification of historical trends and drivers of business value with long-term strategy

• Supports business partners with technical GAAP and regulatory accounting and reporting for new reinsurance transactions and acquisitions

• Manages associates including setting priorities, developing associates, and managing workloads; provides guidance to the GFS Finance team on areas of expertise

• Coordinates with other functional areas to achieve efficient and effective accounting and reporting practices and procedures

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience
• 12+ years accounting and financial analysis
• 4+ years management experience

Preferred:

• Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent)
• Insurance, reinsurance, or financial services experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Required:

• Highly advanced knowledge of accounting/finance theory and application

• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey complex business terminology to a diverse audience

• Strong business knowledge of financial services industry and broad economic concepts

• Expert level Microsoft Office suite

• Advanced experience with data analytics, visualization, and business intelligence tools

• Advanced level of investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects, quickly adapt to new methods, and liaise with individuals across diverse functional disciplines

RGA offers an array of benefits, including flexible plans. The general pay range for this position is $145,810 - $179,365 per year + bonus. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
