The Executive Director, Educational Strategy Development (ED) is responsible for business development by identifying and pursuing grant opportunities. They will develop financial support opportunities in the form of grant funding requested from the pharmaceutical/medical device industry by identifying those opportunities through new and existing supporters, responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), prospecting and networking both remotely and face-to-face at conferences and at in-person meetings. The Executive Director, Educational Strategy development provides guidance during the development of needs assessments and manages the grant development process. They also manage the supporter relationship, including providing status updates, outcomes updates, and regular communication. The ED is responsible for meeting, maintaining, and communicating business goals.
Primary Responsibilities
Develops and grows potential grant business through understanding of therapeutics in key areas including and not limited to oncology/hematology; infectious disease; cardiology, etc.; stays abreast of industry trends and conditions including ACCME guidelines; participates in literature reviews and attendance at both CME/CE industry and medical conferences
Assesses opportunities and understands priorities through analysis of industry intelligence, business acumen, and pipeline
Collaborates with team (including both internal and external stakeholders) to develop medical education strategies and expertly position and deliver grant proposals
Maintains systems for regular communication with supporters, effectively communicates and presents to assigned and prospective supporters, and provides status updates to senior management; develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders and supporters
Attends conferences in specialty area(s) and visits funders on location
Prioritizes and multitasks grant opportunities in a timely and expeditious manner
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors or Higher
5+ years of experience in CME/CE with 3+ years sales experience.
Demonstrated ability to grow existing supporter business, identify potential supporters, close contracts, and work well in fast-paced team environment
