Amgen is searching for an Executive Director

  • Diagnostic Strategy Lead. The Diagnostics Strategy Lead will be responsible for ensuring delivery of diagnostic tools that support and enable Amgen's medicines to achieve regulatory approval, market access and commercial success. Integral to the ongoing success of Amgen's growing pipeline, the Diagnostics Strategy Lead (DxSL) is a critical role in the organization that will have a significant impact on a large and growing part of the Amgen portfolio. The DxSL will be responsible for developing and delivering end-to-end diagnostics strategies to support regulatory approval and commercialization of the diagnostic test globally. As such, the DxSL will work closely with other functions within Amgen to identify the appropriate partner for diagnostic test development. We are looking for individuals with experience in driving end to end diagnostic strategies that align to development needs of the therapeutics the diagnostics support. The Diagnostic Strategy Lead will be a critical strategic role at Amgen requiring a breadth of communication expertise across a broad range of stakeholders, influencing decision-making through negotiation, and addressing conflict by building productive working relationships across functional areas both within and outside the company.

The Diagnostic Strategy Lead reports to the Head of Clinical Biomarker and Diagnostics Companion and be responsible for the following:

  • Leads a team of 4+ individuals with accountability for diagnostic strategy, development and commercial execution throughout the product lifecycle

  • Works with the product teams to develop, where necessary, comprehensive diagnostic strategies to support therapeutic product team needs and ensure commercial success

  • Delivers an integrated diagnostic strategy which considers near and long-term broad, cross functional impacts including regional and country level perspectives identifying impact on product value, profitability / product assumption

  • Ensures diagnostic strategy and assumptions are executable

  • Develops and articulate strategic options to make the best trade-off decisions for patients and Amgen

  • Develops a high performing team to execute these responsibilities

  • Ensures plans and execution to enable physician and patient access to the right diagnostics at the right time in support of Amgen medicines

  • Manages portfolio of diagnostic products, technologies and partners to ensure long term success

  • Responsible for identifying what decisions are at the product, portfolio, functional, or regional levels, effectively utilizes the Amgen DAI decision making framework for product decisions and to accurately assess risk related to program decisions

  • Generates high quality, focused communication of program needs and recommendations to executive management

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree & 6 years of Diagnostic related experience OR
  • Master's degree & 10 years of Diagnostic related experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree & 12 years of Diagnostic related experience AND
  • 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Executive with superior cross-functional collaboration skills, highly effective influencing and leadership skills and the ability to operate across multiple geographies

  • Ability to synthesize different points of view to make sound and objective decisions

  • Proven skills in navigating within a highly matrixed environment

  • End-to-end drug commercialization as well as deep knowledge of diagnostic development and commercialization

  • Deal making experience with diagnostic companies

  • Proven skills and experience with formulating integrated, cross-functional strategies

  • Effective decision maker

  • Communication skills, including executive presence and strong presentation skills

  • Ability to lead with courage

  • Can comfortably confront and work through conflict, and is not afraid to make tough decisions and take quick action
  • Delivered results through effective team and peer leadership

  • Demonstrated self-awareness in previous roles

  • Ability to synthesize different points of view to make sound and objective decisions

Associate Director, Wealth Strategy The Associate Director, Wealth Strategy will collaborate and lead client initiatives with other Ascent professionals in the areas of 1) multi-generational wealth and financial planning, 2) trust and fiduciary matters, 3) business and personal tax strategies, 4) charitable planning and 5) business ownership succession planning. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with our nationally recognized Wealth Sustainability team, a resource group with professional expertise spanning the traditional fields of accounting, tax, and estate planning with strategic skills and resources associated with family governance, family history, mission, vision, and values development. This individual will also correspond and collaborate directly with client's accountants, CFO's and legal advisors. The candidate will work closely with the Managing Director, Wealth Strategy to create value-added wealth planning ideas involving tax, financial, and business matters while also incorporating delivery of our customized services in areas of family wealth stewardship, business succession planning, and financial education for client family members. Candidate should bring a consultative, creative, and client-oriented mindset while able to function as a strong contributing member of an accomplished advisory team.
