What you'll be doing...

The ideal candidate is a leader with commercial marketing expertise who can develop strategies to win in the consumer premium prepaid segment, primarily focused in wireless/mobility, but also in strategy for the wireline business. The role is accountable for top-line revenue growth, operational efficiency and bottom-line profit margin for the Verizon prepaid business.

The role will operate as a brand manager for the Verizon consumer prepaid segment, responsible for end-to-end value proposition and pricing strategy, promotional activity across a wide range of distribution types, product feature inclusions and handset/device lineup strategy, distribution strategies, CRM and retention management, market positioning, customer care structures, and more. The role will serve as the central strategy hub for how Verizon plays in the prepaid mobility market to drive differentiation and greater lifetime value.

This is a high-impact role given focused on leading the development and evolution of the prepaid strategy for the largest consumer wireless company in the US.

Success in this role will requires thought leadership and innovation, as well as very strong financial acumen and matrix organizational management skills. Importantly, the Executive Director of Prepaid Marketing & Operations will also build, mentor and manage a high-performing team.

  • This executive will work to increase Verizon's brand resonance and revenue opportunities by developing progressive marketing offerings in the prepaid space that meet the unique needs of the diverse and shifting customer bases.

  • Combine marketing thought leadership and an understanding of our capabilities and objectives to support growth targets across Verizon. This will require a blend of financial acumen, strategic analysis, influence management and execution skills to turn data points into actionable plans.

  • Work with consumer insights, analytics, competitive teams, key corporate and divisional stakeholders to clearly highlight opportunities and challenges within the prepaid segment.

  • Lead business case development for market and revenue potential, as well as existing customer base implications.

  • Define and execute all short-term promotional offers across the broad distribution portfolio for Verizon Prepaid service.

  • Lead base management for loyalty design/retention improvement, upsell and revenue growth and CRM/customer engagement.

  • Improve ROI from segment marketing activities by defining quantitative metrics to measure and optimize all areas of the function.

  • Lead overall market positioning and operational strategy for launching new value props or evolving current market solutions through Verizon operational delivery chain.

  • Own marketing briefing for agency creative development for media campaigns, retail merchandising and digital/social media presence.

  • Design the prepaid customer experience processes, including the path to a mobile-first, digitally-oriented customer experience, encompassing IT systems requirements, business rule creation, and process development. Responsible for customer experience as measured from NPS.

  • Develop 6-quarter roadmaps for end-to-end marketing plans for the prepaid segment.

  • Own the 3-year strategic roadmap for the prepaid segment.

What we're looking for...

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA and/or technical degree highly desired.

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial marketing, value proposition/pricing design and complex portfolio management highly desired

  • 10+ years of innovation strategy, concept development, & experience design spanning the industry's value chain; Proven track record of marketing ideation and execution

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and will convey a sense of poise and confidence in both formal and informal settings with senior executives, peers and business partners.

  • Manage ambiguity with ease; will make decisions with speed and accuracy; and will champion change in a passionate, convincing manner that elicits broad support.

  • Deep experience developing and executing segment-based strategies to achieve customer growth and accomplish strategic objectives, ideally in a subscription-based business.

  • Ability to drive change and performance in a matrixed, consensus-based organization where successful collaboration and communication are required at all levels.

  • Demonstrated success in managing a complex workload with multiple priorities and tight deadlines with a focus on measuring results and improving performance.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive under pressure.

  • Ability to drive results at all levels, regardless of reporting structures.
