Job Description:

The Executive Director of Clinical Outcomes is responsible for leading the health system's Clinical Quality and Safety efforts in support of the vision to be nationally recognized as the health care leader in Kentucky and southern Indiana. This role will lead the efforts of annual prioritization of Clinical Quality and Safety work priorities.

It includes developing and implementing plans across all venues of care to achieve those annual goals. It is responsible for defining and continuously improving our implementation processes to reduce variation and encourage standardization and optimization. It will also integrate and coordinate project management and performance improvement using tools such as LEAN, Six Sigma and others to achieve results in partnership with the Performance Advisory Office. This position will performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee engagement.

This role will have access to a variety of analytical tools and resources to facilitate evidence based planning and decision making.

Master's degree in Nursing or health care related field

A minimum of seven years' experience in multi-hospital or health system quality improvement initiatives, with at least five years of supervisory experience.

Must possess a successful track record of working collaboratively with medical staff, nursing, administrative leadership, service lines leadership and key stakeholders throughout the system to foster an environment of shared accountability.

Must possess the ability to do a comprehensive analysis of a process for identification of areas for improvement, and skills to then implement the needed change within that process.

Job Description: Hours: 32 Shift: 1st Status: Full Time Job Summary: The Clinical Outcomes Nurse is assigned to facilitate and oversee compliance with clinical care measures to affect desired clinical outcomes and optimal patient experience. This nurse will work collaboratively with nursing leaders and staff and be actively engaged with the multidisciplinary team as part of the process to ensure compliance and enhance patient outcomes. As a Registered nurse, he/she contributes to patient care utilizing the nursing process for each patient regardless of age and in alignment with the parameters of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act. National Professional Nursing Standards serve as guidelines for the clinical outcomes nurse as he/she utilizes critical thinking skills and exercises appropriate nursing judgment. The clinical outcomes nurse will also serve as a role model by actively participating in the process of continuous professional development, teaching and learning across the healthcare continuum. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. The individual may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and their specific functions may change to meet the needs of the organization. 1. Assists and collaborates with clinical team to ensure compliance with clinical care measures and supporting performance improvement activities. 2. Provides education to patients and families with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes. 3. Leads by example, projecting a team centered attitude and driving effective patient focused care honoring and holding in high regard the dignity and worth of the patients and their families, their co-workers and the health system of which they are a part of. 4. Works collaboratively with unit staff, physicians, Quality RN Analysts, Patient Management Services and other clinical departments as indicated to enhance outcomes. 5. Demonstrates clinical proficiency and use of critical thinking skills related to providing and evaluating care delivery. 6. Demonstrates exceptional organizational and time management skills in providing support and guidance regarding patient care. 7. Collaborates with nurse manager and clinical team to ensure optimal patient experience while communicating and working together for the overall good of the team. 8. Actively participates in the process of continuous professional development, teaching and learning across the healthcare continuum. .Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required: A. Experience: * 3 - 5 years relevant patient-care experience required * Prior experience in leadership role * Knowledge of current healthcare trends and environment and keeps abreast of changes. B. Education: * Active Kentucky RN license * BLS required * BSN required * Specialty certification preferred C.
