Job Summary:

The Executive Director will oversee the areas of career management (student coaching, career development workshops) and employer relations (campus organized recruiting, employer development) and works with a team of outstanding professionals supporting Full-Time MBA, Professional MBA, Executive MBA, MS and MA Masters students in the Wisconsin School of Business including our Knowledge Centers while striving to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

The Executive Director develops and leads the execution of strategy, policy and protocol, administers services, and cultivates relationships that benefit career advising and employer relations efforts for MBA & Master's programs to ensure all constituents receive quality career services support. Strategy will include particular attention for internship and job-seeking students in residential programs, including international students.

Use of data to inform decision-making and improve organizational processes, demonstrated leadership in creating a positive team culture, and exceptional administrative skills will be welcomed. While on-site duties in the Wisconsin School of Business are expected, this role will have some remote flexibility with approval. Travel will also be expected.

Responsibilities:

Develops strategy, policy and protocol, administers services, and cultivates relationships for career advising and/or employer relations efforts within a school or college to ensure all constituents receive quality career services support. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

  • 10% Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised operational policies and procedures for career advising and/or employer relations within a school or college
  • 15% Directs strategic planning initiatives and establishes career development unit objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources, and alignment with the strategic plan
  • 15% Serves as a liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups to provide information on career outcomes and career services
  • 25% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to understand employment needs and encourage recruitment of the institution's students
  • 10% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 5% Participates and leads in the campus-wide career services community providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college
  • 20% Direct student support though trek participation and coaching

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

Required minimum years of experience:

  • 5 years experience in higher education career services, or a business role in human resource recruiting, executive recruiting, employer development, business management or combination thereof
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 2 years of budget management experience

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a business school or graduate business education

  • Experience in career coaching/mentoring/advising

  • Use of data to inform decision making and improve organizations and processes

  • Demonstrated leadership in creating a positive team culture

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Ongoing/Renewable

Salary:

Minimum $118,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
