Position Summary:

Guide, lead and support Global Brand Procurement staff to achieve corporate/brand goals for innovation, quality, cost, cash and revenue. Strategically link the Brand's requirements with all procurement capabilities (innovation, agility, category and operations) to drive best in class solutions. Lead key supplier and brand initiatives, in partnership with category sourcing teams, to deliver all materials and services on time and to cost targets

Job Description:

Management Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to Brand Procurement Staff.

  • Drive delivery of departmental and brand objectives with managed staff.

  • Lead Performance and Development Plans (PDP's) of managed staff.

  • Manage brand procurement staff on day-to-day activity to deliver company/brand objectives.

  • Manage effective relationships between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Assist and/or educate other departments in the techniques of maintaining supplier support and supplier relations.

Brand Cost Management

  • In partnership with Category Sourcing, leverage cost targeting and other best in class practices to achieve best total value for the brand.

  • Oversee budget process with Finance and set standard costs as required for both new and repeat business.

  • Confirm all negotiated costs by approving agreements in routing.

  • Leverage category sourcing teams to monitor and address key commodity cost movements.

  • Assist marketing with development of tooling budget.

  • Work closely with brand to identify and address COGS improvement.

Sourcing, Negotiation & Launch Execution

  • Oversee a spend value of $150MM or greater.

  • In partnership with category sourcing teams, responsible for negotiation of major strategic launches.

  • In alignment with category sourcing teams, manage a group of individuals who negotiate with suppliers to achieve the following:

  • Most favorable total value (for first buys and repeat purchases)

  • Exceed budgeted cost objectives

  • Multi-year agreements that avoid negative PPV

  • Review cost analysis of competitive bids with supplier awards made based on innovation, supplier delivery performance, quality performance and total value.

  • Ensure supply contingency plans to support forecast upside and plans against downside.

  • Develop plans to guarantee launch delivery on time and in full.

  • Attend kick off meetings with Quality, Packaging, Engineering, and Supplier for all 5 star launches.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Jointly with category sourcing teams, develop and present proposed suppliers to bid on new business.

  • Fully integrate all sourcing efforts with Strategic Relationship Management initiatives.

  • Aim to consolidate majority of business awards toward pre-determined strategic and preferred suppliers consistent with category strategies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support focus factories and set EMQs to reduce component inventories.

  • Problem solve and manage supply, quality and delivery issues on new product introductions.

  • In alignment with category sourcing teams, visit supplier's manufacturing sites to be keep current on all capabilities, challenges and future potential. Performance Measurement

  • Monitor PPV report and address issues with key stakeholders.

  • Resolve, within scope of authority, accounts payable or supplier payments problems, informational requirements, payables or credit status communication issues, or other procurement-related issues.

Value Analysis

  • Drive value analysis meetings to help identify cost, cash and revenue improvements.

  • Assist the VA team in the implementation of total value opportunities.


Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent / MBA preferred

Minimum Years of Experience: 10

Travel Time: 20% Travel may be required: North America, Europe, Asia

Licenses or Certifications:

  • International/global business experience is preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills required.

  • Must have strong leadership/people management skills as well as strong planning and decision making skills.

  • Must be a team player with a focus on the customer.

  • CPSM certification preferred

  • SAP experience preferred

Required Language Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in English is required.

  • Communication in other languages is a plus.

Additional Job Specifications:

Responsible for leading and managing total value of assigned brand(s). This will include supervising a team of individuals responsible for all negotiations and value creation on both new product launches as well as repeat business. Requires strong leadership and communication skills to all levels of management at Suppliers and within the ELC organization.

The Analyst will work with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams across Brands and/or Regions on spend management initiatives. The Analyst will support category-specific strategy development, manage data in SAP and other business function tools, drive portions of select strategic sourcing activities, and assist with building supplier relationship management programs for various categories of indirect spend. Owns data management. * Obtains data and provides data analysis, determines opportunities based on spend analysis.
