The Executive Director is recognized by the Board as the chief executive officer and shall be the administrative head of all departments in the Cooperative. The Director shall be responsible to the Arch Ford Governing Board for administering the school system according to the mandates of the laws, Arkansas Department of Education, other agencies of jurisdiction, and policies governing school operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implementing the policies of the Board;
Being responsible for the planning and implementation of an educational program in accordance with State and Federal requirements and the needs of the consortium districts;
Reporting to the Board concerning the status of the educational program, personnel, and operations, and making recommendations for improving programs, services and facilities;
Acting as a liaison between the Board and school personnel;
Making recommendations to the Board concerning personnel employment, discipline, and termination;
Being responsible for the development of short- and long-term goals for the Cooperative and consortium districts;
Preparing and presenting an annual budget for the Cooperative to the Board for its consideration;
Regularly reporting the Board on the financial condition of the Cooperative.
Direct expenditures of funds within the budget
Perform other duties as required by the AFESC Board of Directors and the policies, rules and regulations of the Arkansas State Board of Education

QUALIFICATIONS:
District-level administrative leadership preferred
Must hold an administrator's certificate and meet all requirements to serve as a superintendent of schools in the State of Arkansas; or have an equivalent level of education and administrative experience and obtain the approval of the Arkansas State Board of Education.
Extensive experience in human resource, including employee evaluation
Experience in financial resource management
Exhibit professional writing skills
Fluent skills in the use of current technology in instruction and communication with other administrators and the ability to learn emerging technologies
Proven extensive track record of organization goal setting and accomplishment
An understanding of the needs and culture of the twenty six school districts Arch Ford serves

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent, overnight travel in and out of state
Effective Oral and Written Communication
Ability to drive to provide support on-site for districts
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

This is a 240 day contract position located in Plumerville, Arkansas
