Executive Chef

Kimpton Hotels Portland , OR 97228

Posted 2 weeks ago

We're seeking a forward-thinking Executive Chef for il Solito at Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland.

What you will do:

You will create and curate the culinary direction of the entire property. You will lead, teach, and inspire a team of kitchen professionals from varying backgrounds and to create delicious food and unforgettable dining experiences in our restaurants, bars, and event spaces.

A bit about you: Through your professional experience, you have forged your own culinary POV.

You are passionate about locally sourced ingredients, seasonality, and working with nearby farmers, fisherman, and artisans. You're fanatic about learning, trying new foods and new techniques, and flexing your creative culinary muscles. (You eat out a LOT.) You are not into large menus that try to be everything to everyone. You're into dishes that are craveable, picture-worthy, and thoughtfully ingredient-driven. You lead by example, and you extend the same care to your kitchen that you do to our guests.

A bit about us: We believe that having chef-led restaurants, compelling bars, and heartfelt hospitality take a dining experience from being just another night to a moment to remember.

Our restaurants and bars are buzzed-about neighborhood hubs and destination beloved by locals and travelers alike. (We don't do "hotel restaurants." Just great restaurants.) We rebel against the norm and like to do things a bit differently. Our edge is our culture. The irreverent, inclusive spirit embraces individuality in our guests and employees alike. We lively, rebellious, and have an entrepreneurial spirit and a zest for life -- especially great things to eat and drink.
