Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef for Willow Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Binghamton, NY. This is a 300 Resident rehab and skilled care facility.

The Executive Chef 1 position will be responsible for overseeing food production, purchasing, scheduling, and inventory management. Successful candidate will be a hands-on, working chef who excels at leading a team.

In this role you manage. The daily operations of the kitchen, training 70 employees in food production & dining service, food & labor costs controls, catered events, a small food retail operation, quality standards, self-audits for the HACCP process, and customer service programs and enhancements. Your skills to support the primary focus of driving outstanding food quality and service with the focused on resident involvement and well-being is mission critical.

Your Skills Checklist for this position:

Culinary Training / Trade School Certificate, Servsafe Certified

Senior Living, Meals on Wheels (MOW) experience is ideal

Financial skills; food and labor costs controls

Ability to train employees on culinary techniques

Computer skills; food & labor management systems

Working knowledge of HACCP monitors for Regulatory Compliance

Menu Planning for resident dining, MOW, and catering

Experience with quality standards for food production & delivery

A passion for a high level of customer service

Schedule varies with rotating weekends and holidays

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution

Key Duties-Executes the culinary function-Customer & Client satisfaction-Manages food & physical safety program.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience

  • 2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
