Liberty University located in the beautiful background of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Lynchburg VA is seeking a talented experienced Executive Chef 1.
The Executive Chef will be responsible for assisting in managing the day to day culinary operations of our main Resident Dining Hall. This position will assist our Executive Chef 2 and another Executive Chef 1 with the operations of serving 10,000 meals daily. This position will supervise and manage 125-150 hourly employees and supervisors.
Responsibilities to include the following:
Managing the daily food production including production planning and controls
Ensuring Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality
Labor and food cost controls and compliance
Menu development and inventory management
Food cost management
Training and Development for the culinary team (strong ability to coach and mentor)
Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution
Key Duties-Executes the culinary function-Customer & Client satisfaction-Manages food & physical safety program.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement
Associate's Degree Basic Management Experience
2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
