Executive Branch Economist

The Position

Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

This recruitment is for an Executive Branch Economist position, located in Carson City, Nevada within The Governor's Finance Office. The position conducts research and analysis of economic, social, industrial and employment factors in order to identify trends and implications on the State; forecasts and tracks diverse state tax revenues and researches how other changes might affect revenues; prepares in-depth reports of statistical and economic data; presents findings and recommendations to the Governor and his staff, the Finance Director and Deputies and presents and defends revenue forecasts to the state's Economic Forum; and assist the Director of the Governor's Finance Office with data collection for various meetings within the Executive Branch.
