Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of Assistant Director (CEA), the Executive Assistant (EA) relieves the Assistant Director and Branch Chief assigned administrative detail, taking initiative to carry out assignments without detailed instructions. The EA reviews and analyzes proposed policy, procedures, and program changes, prepares reports, interprets all polices to operating programs, and makes recommendations.

The incumbent will serve as the personal assistant to the Assistant Director and will ensure meeting logistics and travel matters are handled effectively and efficiently. The EA supports the overall Department and Branch missions, goals, and objectives and performs duties as necessary to provide for better delivery of program services. This position will support Branch leadership with field deployment coordination and Department Operations Center activations.

Working Conditions

his work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.

The incumbent may be required to travel, participate in disaster related work, work irregular work hours, and may be required to work overtime. In addition, the incumbent may be required to work at locations other than the official duty station for an extended period of time. The incumbent must perform with tact and professionalism and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
