Position Description:

Coordinates activities of legal department and communications between the Company and the Board of

Directors. Assists in responding to internal and external inquiries that may implicate the legal interests of the Company. Assists in maintaining the corporate records and corporate governance documents of the Company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organizes, drafts and maintains legal documents and electronic files.

  • Accurately accounts for legal fees and reviews invoices for over charges review budget to reduce costs.

  • Investigates, reviews and drafts responses to internal and external inquiries under direction of in-house counsel.

  • Maintains corporate records including updating corporate books and Secretary of State filings for WNC and all its entities.

  • Requests and updates Corporate Finance on Legal Accruals

  • Maintains and organizes schedules, travel arrangements and general administrative matters for members of the legal department.

  • Assists in maintaining active and historical records relating to the Company's intellectual property portfolio, contracts, filings and other legal records of the Company.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

College Degree Major Desired: Associate's degree in Paralegal or related area

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

  • Paralegal training, degree or certificate.

  • Must possess sound judgment, excellent communication skills and the ability to handle matters discretely and in confidence.

  • Must work well in a team setting and be comfortable handling matters independently.

  • Must be comfortable speaking with third parties about matters concerning the Company.

Certifications, Licenses

Paralegal certificate or degree, at a minimum. Bachelor's degree in other fields, with prior training as a paralegal is also acceptable.

Behavioral Competencies

  • Ability to handle matters discretely and in confidence.

  • Attention to detail and willingness to work independently, without significant oversight.

A day in the life * Will be responsible for following prescribed methods and procedures in conducting group and individual activities. * Makes choices and uses judgement daily to report to professional staff progress/decline of residents and works under moderate supervision. * Needs knowledge of writing progress notes, MDS3.0 intakes of new members, and attendance documentation and computer skills. * Assists in evaluation of resident's needs and abilities * Directs residents in routine group and individual activities * Performs related clerical duties such as scheduling, filing, record keeping, care plans, progress notes, MDS 3.0,new member evaluation and attendance documentation * Attends treatment team meetings to provide input as to progress of residents based on daily observations * Other duties as assigned What we're looking for * Maintain a CNA Certification /education involving Dementia Alzheimer * Have the ability to learn/maintain knowledge to conduct activities * Have ability to stimulate resident's interests, communicate verbally and in documentation of resident's progress and or behavior * Have ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with residents * Have working knowledge of the principles and specific methods of carrying out a recreational program. * Has good communication and writing skills, computer skill * Has the working knowledge of limitations and needs of the elderly. * One (1) year experience rendering direct care to special populations or developmentally disabled, emotionally disturbed, geriatric, or substance abusers in a clinic, community, or hospital setting, or related experience; or accredited college training in a related field.
