Responsible for providing administrative, organizational, and technical support at the Vice President level in order to facilitate the Vice President's effectiveness and the smooth and accurate flow of incoming and outgoing information. Handles various administrative tasks in a timely, professional, and thorough manner.

Interacts with company leaders, staff at all levels, and business associates. Primary Responsibility In the Vice President's absence, and as authorized, uses initiative and judgment to assure that matters requiring attention are referred to the delegated authority, or are handled in a manner so as to minimize the effect of the Vice President's absence and ease his/her return. Maintains follow-up files and screens incoming calls and "drop-ins" consistent with policy and practice of the executive.

It is critical that the incumbent display the appropriate discretion and diplomacy during the course of these duties. Acts as the primary liaison between the Vice President and his/her internal and external contacts. Responsible for the efficient flow of information into and out of the Vice President's office to include preparing ongoing correspondence and reports, while ensuring the resulting correspondence and reports are presented professionally.

Dependent upon the nature of the correspondence and reports, selects the optimal method/system to utilize to compose and convey this information, cognizant of the audience and purpose of the correspondence. Receives, sorts, and prioritizes incoming correspondence, provides file information of relevance and, as appropriate, routes or prepares preliminary responses. Participates in the development and preparation of budgets and the ongoing monitoring of expenses.

Responsible for maintaining the Vice President's calendar, the scheduling of appointments and trips, and receiving and assisting outside visitors. Coordinates all components of scheduling meetings. Maintains a current phone directory and office supplies.

Receives internal and external correspondence, and calls, contacts, and diplomatically refers/responds to the same thereby maximizing the efficient use of the Officer's time. Ensures minimal disruption during the Vice President's absence and subsequent return through attending to all appropriate details. Provides administrative support to other management and/or other employees within the department.

Based on extensive Corporate experience or specialized skills, serves as a resource to peers and as necessary, provides the same with support or assistance. Also assists other areas on special projects or priority items through administrative support, providing information or coordination of efforts. Performs special functions related to the specific responsibilities of the Vice President.

Knowledge and Skills Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and organizational abilities. Must maintain absolute confidentiality and possess the highest level of integrity. Requires flexible work habits and the capacity to concurrently handle a variety of duties/projects.

Must be conversant with current system technologies such as Electronic Mail, Electronic Filing, and other internal systems. Personal computer literacy and the aptitude to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, database and graphical presentation systems is required. Proficient in typing, transcription, shorthand, and composition.

Must possess the demonstrated ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, exercise initiative and judgment, and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.

The Account Executive will provide world class account management, acting as a liaison between the company and a group of customers. The Account Executive should have proven strategic sales strategies, with a proven track record of success prospecting, penetrating, managing and closing customers. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Penetrates accounts at both the functional and Executive level, working with District leaders and industry experts to design superior solutions for customers current and future needs. * Provides cross-territory technical and sales expertise when needed. * Instrumental in execution of MSC Collaboration projects and cross selling activities. * Acts as a role model for all sales associates and consistently demonstrates MSC values and financial achievement. * Works with internal teams to ensure operational efficiencies and service levels meet and exceed customer expectations through strong customer service orientation with excellent follow up skills. * Must achieve sales plan and account retention target. * Identify and grow opportunities within the district through collaboration with Strategic Accounts, National Account, MSC sales, and Sales Management to insure growth achievement. * Effectively communicate initiatives between multiple contacts within a customer * Maximize the percentage of productivity through the utilization of multiple MSC Solution channels. * Develops world class relationships with customers and delivers key components of the sales strategy, while being initiative to solve customer's needs. * Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in acquiring customers by exceeding their requirements. * Creates and delivers face-to-face sales presentations to strategic prospective clients that demonstrate knowledge of the latest products and services. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma or equivalent is required. * Two to four year college degree preferred. * Minimum of 3+ years outside direct sales/service experience preferred. * 4 years of Industry experience preferred. * Experience in account retention and account penetration (expansion of sales within existing accounts); must be able to verify sales successes. SKILLS: * Proven track record in new account acquisition, account retention and account penetration (expansion of sales within existing accounts). * High degree of integrity and ability to develop customer relationships required. * Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and develop action plans * Technical product knowledge preferred - relevant to the markets being served, including but not limited to fasteners, chemicals, industrial maintenance supplies, electrical, food processing, manufacturing, etc. * Requires ability to read technical material and develop analysis regarding the same * Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening, presentation and questioning skills * Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email) and ability to acclimate to PC based order entry system and wireless, hand held scanners * Must exhibit basic math skills and ability to organize and manage time appropriately.
