Lee Memphis, Tennessee 38103 United States Posting Date: 2021-07-27 Job Posting End Date: 2021-08-02 Under minimal supervision, this position will provide high-level advice and support to the General Counsel (GC) of FedEx Logistics. This includes governance and administrative activities related to the GC's role as the Operating Company's chief compliance officer, and ensuring the efficient management of assigned risk and compliance activities.
The position will also assist in the monitoring, and remediation tracking of audits performed by the Corporate Internal Audit (IA) group and other key projects. This role will also balance specific projects and initiatives as assigned and effectively interacts with all levels of management across functional areas on a routine basis. Governance: fulfill the duties required in supporting the GC in the role of co-chair of the Executive Compliance Council (ECC) including but not limited to: preparation of documents for the ECC; contribute to the ECC administratively in periodic ECC meeting production; support the FXL Executive team in the application of the ECC deliverables and action items; prepare and maintain corporate reporting of the FXL inputs for the quarterly form 10-Q corporate filing; prepare and maintain quarterly FedEx Logistics Reportable Matters Report.
Project Management: develop, monitor and review projects plans for projects for which the GC is responsible; work with key stakeholders to provide project coordination when required, and play a key role in change management, internal communications and reporting for GC projects; identify gaps in the organization's roll-out and implementation of key projects. Continuous Improvement: support the implementation of procedures in the role of Sub Process Manager, for areas of the business that the GC holds Process Owner responsibility (contract policy, internal legal processes, etc.); undertake tasks that support the ongoing implementation of Governance and Risk policies and procedures, this would include collaborating with Internal Controls groups at FXL and the groups leading Control Self-Monitoring (CSM); conducts research to identify risk factors that require prioritization in order to minimize exposure; liaise with IA on the Internal Audit projects including assistance with risk assessment, scope development, project progress, root cause analysis, issue tracking and reporting, monitoring, and follow-up. Executive Support: serve as a liaison between the GC office and other functional areas; support the GC to manage information exchange and ensure effective communication occurs across key stakeholder groups; draft correspondence to be sent on behalf of and signed by the GC; ensure that urgent inquiries and emerging issues are brought to the GC's attention in a timely manner; provide administrative support to the GC as required.
Leadership: identify opportunities to improve collaboration among stakeholders from the different functional areas; share collective responsibility for delivering organizational objectives, through active engagement and collaboration with team members at all levels in the organization. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent required; minimum of 7 years of related experience. A strong track record of managing and delivering projects within specified time-frames.
Previous delivery of support to senior management and ability to interact with team members of all levels. Experience with policy and procedure development, review and implementation. Demonstrated strong analytical thinking ability.
Analytical risk identification, evaluation, and management skills.Understanding of project management principles and application of relevant associated tools. Ability to identify effective frameworks that match organizational need and context. Understanding of how to source relevant organizational information to understand business requirements and pre-empt potential project challenges.
Demonstrates ability to identify complex project risks and ability to implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks. Capacity to be highly confidential, discreet and tactful. Lateral thinker with an ability to manage a multitude of complex tasks and projects simultaneously.
One or more certification in Quality Management Programs such as QDM, Six Sigma, SAFe Agile preferred. Understanding of Governance functions, change management principles and project management principles and application of relevant associated tools preferred.
