PositionSummary:

Top leadership position in a market providing strategic direction and leadership to sales and service staff and consultative services to customers to achieve sales, service, and retention goals for assigned business or customer segments, products, and services to achieve profitable growth. Incumbent has profit and loss responsibility for the market,including SG&A accountability for both existing and new sales.

FundamentalComponents:

Establishes, communicates, and executes strategic direction, operational and marketing strategy and performance measures in line with company, segment, region and market/industry goals.

  • Articulates a strategic vision to stakeholders and generates options to achieve that vision.

  • Leads and directs a management team to ensure achievement of sales, membership growth, retention, and profitability goals for a significant business.

  • Analyzes competitive environment to supportand improve pricing, underwriting, and product development strategies, as well as service approach and sales efforts with an eye to long-term success.

  • Defines and creates a culture focused ontranslating and delivering strategy into operational reality; instills a sense of urgency in others to achieve results.

  • Works with clients to establish their strategic vision and determines the most effective implementation approach.

  • Attracts, develops, engages, and retains adverse highly-skilled and professional level workforce (including managers and individual contributors) and engages and develops them through mentoring,coaching, and making tools and resources available to ensure the organizationhas the talent necessary for achievement of business goals.

  • Collaborates across the organization to ensure internal and external constituent needs are met. Operates as a change leader suggesting new approaches to drive business growth; breaks down barriers across the organization in order to achieve business results.

  • Leads transformational efforts to ensure the organization is prepared for long-term future success. Analyzes and solves problems at a strategic and functional level. This includes participation andinteraction with Local Market partners, Group Medicare,Network Management, Operations, and New Product Development.

  • Proactively helps others understand the organization's vision through written and verbal communication opportunities; educates constituents on Aetna specific policies, products, and procedures, aswell as industry and key business issues.

  • Identifies, cultivates, and maintains strong relationships with all constituents, both internal and external (key customers and their affiliate organizations, corporate leaders, brokers, consultants,etc.); participates and presents at external industry events; serves as the voice of Aetna in the marketplace and is viewed as a key industry leader.

Backgroundand Experience Desired:

At least 15 years industry sales experience. Atleast 5 years of sales management experience.

Additional Candidate Information

Health and Life licenses required in all 50 states. If not currently licensed in all 50 states, it will be coordinated upon acceptance of the position. Incentive compensation dependent on licensure.

Energize your career at Exelon! PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Supports Vice President and Deputy General Counsel and other professionals in designated practice area(s). Under minimal direction, shall be responsible for providing executive secretarial support. Under general direction, performs specialized and confidential assignments. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Provides executive legal secretarial support to at least one Vice President including, but not limited to scheduling travel, typing, transcription, file maintenance, handling inquiries, scheduling meetings and appointments, timekeeping, and other office support functions. Provides back-up support to other Vice Presidents / Associate General Counsel in Legal Department, as necessary 2. Coordinates and facilitates support staff for his or her practice areas in consultation with Manager, Legal Operations & Administration, particularly during peak periods 3. Collects, analyzes, organizes and maintains matter budgets in accordance with correct legal practice and procedure 4. Prepares draft legal documents for attorney review and filing with court, state or federal agencies 5. Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with clients to obtain and clarify information needed to substantiate facts, identify documents and otherwise support legal actions 6. Participates or handles special projects as assigned POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: * At least 8 years of legal secretarial experience; ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions (this is normally acquired through high school education or equivalent) * Candidate must be proficient in advanced Word (able to work with redlining, cross-referencing, automatic numbering, mail merges, subdocuments, table of contents/authorities/figures, line numbering, reference marks, referenced documents, revisions/comparisons, marking/modifying legal citations, citation categories, working with links, compiling/recompiling of indexes, figures); must have working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Access * Must have very high skills in attention to detail, outstanding clerical skills, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. * Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and discretion and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously * Demonstrated administrative, organizing and planning skills * Good initiative and judgment required in determining course of action in the occasional absence of established procedures POSITION SCOPE This person will deal with confidential material.
