Provide full administrative support to President of Applebee's. Analyze problems, determine approach, compile and analyze data, and keep appropriate staff advised. Communicate with executives, administrative staff, general management and external parties to gather information as needed to complete assignments. Primary responsibilities include preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings and appointments, arranging travel, maintaining communication with and providing information to parties as appropriate. Skilled in quick assignments and following up as required with minimal supervision. Overall demeanor should be calm, professional, warm and approachable amid an intense, service oriented and demanding role. Other duties may be assigned as needed; assignments vary greatly.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a warm, professional demeanor; greet visitors, customers, co-workers

  • Apply an in depth understanding of the business, attend to requests coming in to the President from various parties with an appropriate level of attention; listening to the issue, understanding the business impact of the issue, responding with appropriate actions

  • Read, sort and route incoming mail and interoffice documents/e-mail correspondence

  • Set up, organize and maintain correspondence files and other records so that they are easily accessible by other administrators

  • Maintain and organize, in a professional manner, personal workspace and the office of the President

  • Develop appropriate relationships with co-workers to ensure open informal communication paths exist

  • Arrange travel schedule and reservations

  • Prepare expense reports and ensure submission in a timely fashion

  • Assist in preparation of presentations submitted by executive staff for use in BOD and other meeting formats. Leverage expertise of other professional administrative staff to ensure high quality end products

  • Proactively manage calendars to accommodate shifting priorities; ensure all parties impacted by required changes are treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.

  • Ensure that workflow is handled for maximum efficiency. Be proactive in anticipating needs.

  • Interface smoothly and effectively with all levels within the organization including BOD, Executive Staff, Team Members, Vendors and franchisees

  • Build rapport with other team members driving to increase interdepartmental cooperation

  • Demonstrate the ability to act in a professional yet warm manner and maintain competency in a fast paced, demanding work environment

  • Possess the ability to handle a multitude of projects simultaneously

  • Maintain a positive disposition and good work ethic regardless of work demands

  • Participate in identifying and implementing programs to improve company processes and procedures

  • Promote company Vision and Values through actions and approach; be a team player

  • Must be available for demanding work volume. Role requires extreme personal flexibility to accommodate unforeseen tasks that are time sensitive

Skills & Requirements:

  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office Suite programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Working knowledge of databases and maintaining on-line shared systems

  • Ability to research critical business information in a timely fashion (internet, through internal experts, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage one's own time appropriately given ever changing priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly refined ability to use discretion regarding confidential information

  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, take the time to understand the points being made and ask questions for clarification as appropriate

  • Outgoing, approachable demeanor

  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop appropriate solutions.

  • Ability to communicate information and ideas through writing and speaking so that others understand clearly

  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviors and conflicting priorities

  • High School education or equivalent; AA/BA degree desirable

  • Minimum 10 or more years of related executive level experience in a fast-paced demanding work environment supporting C-Suite officers

Job Overview: The Seasonal Brand Sales Support Specialist is responsible for partnering with store teams including Merchandising, Visual and Selling to drive sales, turn and gross margin for their position-specific vendors. Seasonal Brand Sales Support Specialists are cross functional and drive sales by keeping floors stocked with product to minimize backstock and drive turn. Additionally, Seasonal Brand Sales Support Specialist ensure weekly signage is executed.
