BAE Systems is seeking Electronics Technician with experience in performing comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance for any of the following equipment/systems: HF, UHF, VHF, DAMA, SA-2112, Satellite Communication,Tactical Data Link equipment, NAVSSI All Variants, WSN-7, GPNTS, SLQ-32, SEWIP, CEC, CDLMS, JTIDS, IFF and TACAN to be part of our dynamic team located at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC), in Wallops Island, VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.

The selected candidate will perform comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance for the following EXCOMM systems equipment:

HF, VHF and UHF Radios
JTT
LINK-11 and LINK-16
SA-211
Satellite Communication
Tactical Data Link equipment
NAVSSI All Variants
WSN-7
GPNTS

SEWIP

Schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing SKED program in accordance with the Navy's Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program.

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

These services to support SCCS's IT infrastructure include: * Servers - to include virtualization * Storage Area Networks * Workstations/Printers * Intrusion Detection System/Event Monitoring * Routers/Switches * Host Based Security System (HBSS)/Log Management * Backup and recovery components * Other LAN/WAN components * Power Distribution and battery backup components * Data Centers, server rooms, and LAN closets * Fiber infrastructure The selected candidate will also: * Provide information system software analysis, design, development, test, modification, installation, implementation, quality assurance, training, security, and documentation to meet the evolving data storage and reporting needs of programs and management. Provide RDT&E and Business Network Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support. * Support and manage NGEN & RDT&E services. * Recommend and document requirements, and prepare cost estimates and recommend prioritization for: Transition and cutover, tech refresh, Application management, and Legacy reduction initiatives. Maintain inventory, record service delivery for payment, and asset reconciliation. * Collaborate with data owners, information system owners, and users to secure use and operation of information systems (IS) and networks. Maintain configuration control of hardware, systems, and application software. * Maintain and report government approved metrics on SCSC networks, servers, systems, applications, backups, and Authority to Operate (ATO) status. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum education and years of relevant/related experience: A Bachelor's of Science (BS) or Arts (BA) degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Cyber Security and three (3) years of relevant experience. Five (5) years of directly related experience in engineering and securing DoD systems, minimum certification as IAT or IAM Level III and OS or networking certification per DoD 8570.01-M, demonstrated experience with computer security, military system specifications, DoD IA policies, network and systems configuration and administration, demonstrated experience in the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), Platform IT (PIT), and the implementation of Cyber Security and IA boundary defense techniques and various IA-enabled appliances and the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations may substitute for BS/BA. A Master of Science or Arts degree will substitute for two years of the relevant experience requirement. Relevant experience: DIACAP process, system analysis, system audits, CISCO iOS, MS Window/Server, LINUX, network and system monitoring tools, IA compliance models and tools, IA control validation, risk management, incident response, and system security officer responsibilities. Within the period of relevant experience, must have a minimum of two (2) years working in Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E). Security clearance requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required). SCSC provides live surface combat systems platform support for AEGIS Cruisers/Destroyers and SSDS Aircraft Carriers/Amphibious ships. Areas of support include, new system installation/activation/testing, Life Cycle Engineering, Element Integration, Live Fleet Operations, System Certification, Operational/Technical Evaluation, Fleet Emergent testing, CASREP support, Fleet training, interoperability testing and Combat Systems Qualification Trials. The selected candidate will: Install, Integrate, Configure, Modify, Maintain, Operate and Troubleshoot all configurations and versions of SPS-67, TACAN, IFF and GPS Navigation systems at SCSC Wallops Island. Additional skills/experience required: * PQS 301 qualification preferred. This position will be located in Wallops Island, VA at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC). The SCSC provides live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric, maritime environment to develop, test, evaluate and conduct fleet operations and training for the warfighter. SCSC is the premier Land Based Test Site for the Aegis and SSDS Navy Shipboard platforms. The mission at SCSC includes Research and Development, Training, Fleet Emergent Testing, System Integration and hardware/software Certification. Responsibilities include the following: Perform System Administration on Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) tactical information systems. Troubleshoot, install and verify software, maintain, repair, provide access control, monitor, and log analysis for Navy combat systems, tactical computer systems, and tactical networks. Troubleshoot and repair tactical hardware and software.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum education and years of experience required: High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience supporting Navy combat systems tactical computer systems and networks. If the selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified, he/she will be required to obtain PQS 301 qualification within the first 3 months of employment. If the selected candidate does not currently hold Security + certification, he/she will be required to obtain Security + within 6 months of date of hire. Although not required, candidates who possess REDHAT and network device experience and support CISCO router/switches, IBM blade centers in a LINUX REDHAT environment are highly desired.
