Contingent Upon Funding

Job Summary:

  • Provides engineering and configuration management support to ensure active systems and equipment remain operational and maintainable; inoperable systems and equipment are returned to an operational condition; and new or mothballed systems are brought to an operational and maintainable condition.

  • Performs engineering, manufacturing, construction, installation, operational testing, and integration of equipment and facilities at all sites to ensure the operation of the FTTR as an integrated system to meet functional specifications and customer requirements.

  • Implements approved engineering project task requirements to include engineering and/or integration of system modification, range reconfigurations, testing, and new facility buildups.

  • Coordinates equipment relocation support to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, testing, and installation in support of range growth or other requirements.

  • Provides inoperative systems support to include engineering actions necessary to return equipment/systems to operational status. Provides TEC support to include engineering actions on equipment and software changes and additions relative to short-term operational test programs.

  • Supports the Performance Assurance Department with Configuration Management (CM). Evaluates and monitors all modifications to equipment or facilities and change requests to improve operability/reliability/ maintainability.

  • Documents maintenance actions in IEMS.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five years' experience with increasing levels of responsibility in complex electronic systems

  • Five years' technical experience with Tactical Training Range systems (or equivalent military systems)

  • Four years' experience in ESM/ECM and radar employment

  • Four years' electronic maintenance experience in the following areas:

o Digital/analog signal processing

o Synchro-servo circuits

o Radar, RF signal processing

o Electromechanical devices

o Optical equipment

o Video signal processing and recording

o Communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic)

o Digital/analog computer systems

o DC power supplies; low voltage AC equipment; primary and secondary power equipment; auto-transfer (UPS) equipment; portable AC generators

o Test equipment

o Operating experience with search, acquisition, ground control intercept, height finder or fire control radar systems, and familiarity with the employment of threat systems

o Ability to speak, read, and write English.4.

Minimum Position-Specific Training Required:

  • Configuration Management Training

  • Project Management Training

  • Possess a valid state Driver's License

  • Must possess and maintain a DoD Active clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in EE

  • PMP and CISSP certifications

  • CJ

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position, following established policies and practices, provides leadership and direction to employees in the installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and modification of assigned equipment. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Coordinates the development of and conducts technical training and product briefings with customers, vendors, and company representatives. Acts as local on-site company representative with customers. Ensures technical quality is maintained. * Provides guidance and training to customers in establishing operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures and techniques. * Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action. * Advises and assists in effecting design changes to improve equipment efficiency and/or reduce cost of operation. * Devises and implements preventive maintenance programs and keeps performance and maintenance records on equipment. * Coordinates off-site logistics requirements, including but not limited to, parts shipments to and from the off-site location. * Coordinates off-site support requirements when assigned to the home office. * May participate in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of the required management, professional, and technical talent. * Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. * Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. * Other duties as assigned or required. Job Qualifications * Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field and six or more years of progressive technical experience in aviation maintenance, with some military aviation experience. Equivalent experience in aviation maintenance may be substituted in lieu of education. * Must have a thorough understanding of the practices and procedures of aviation maintenance as well as leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones. * Must possess the ability to resolve supervisory and technical problems and serve as on-site spokesperson. * Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with others. * Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required. * Aviation experience highly desired. * Secret Security Clearance is required.
