Contingent Upon Funding

Job Summary:

  • Provides engineering and configuration management support to ensure active systems and equipment remain operational and maintainable; inoperable systems and equipment are returned to an operational condition; and new or mothballed systems are brought to an operational and maintainable condition.

  • Performs engineering, manufacturing, construction, installation, operational testing, and integration of equipment and facilities at all sites to ensure the operation of the FTTR as an integrated system to meet functional specifications and customer requirements.

  • Implements approved engineering project task requirements to include engineering and/or integration of system modification, range reconfigurations, testing, and new facility buildups.

  • Coordinates equipment relocation support to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, testing, and installation in support of range growth or other requirements.

  • Provides inoperative systems support to include engineering actions necessary to return equipment/systems to operational status. Provides TEC support to include engineering actions on equipment and software changes and additions relative to short-term operational test programs.

  • Supports the Performance Assurance Department with Configuration Management (CM). Evaluates and monitors all modifications to equipment or facilities and change requests to improve operability/reliability/ maintainability.

  • Documents maintenance actions in IEMS.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five years' experience with increasing levels of responsibility in complex electronic systems

  • Five years' technical experience with Tactical Training Range systems (or equivalent military systems)

  • Four years' experience in ESM/ECM and radar employment

  • Four years' electronic maintenance experience in the following areas:

o Digital/analog signal processing

o Synchro-servo circuits

o Radar, RF signal processing

o Electromechanical devices

o Optical equipment

o Video signal processing and recording

o Communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic)

o Digital/analog computer systems

o DC power supplies; low voltage AC equipment; primary and secondary power equipment; auto-transfer (UPS) equipment; portable AC generators

o Test equipment

o Operating experience with search, acquisition, ground control intercept, height finder or fire control radar systems, and familiarity with the employment of threat systems

o Ability to speak, read, and write English.4.

Minimum Position-Specific Training Required:

  • Configuration Management Training

  • Project Management Training

  • Possess a valid state Driver's License

  • Must possess and maintain a DoD Active clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in EE

  • PMP and CISSP certifications

  • CJ

Position is represented by a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Essential Responsibilities: Performs systems maintenance and operations and applies technical knowledge to solve highly complex problems that typically cannot be solved by referencing manufacturer's manuals or similar documents. Applies technical knowledge in complex troubleshooting, isolating malfunctions, repairing to the component level, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires understanding of the interrelationships of analog, digital, mechanical, and RF operating systems, diagnostics, and circuits. Makes circuit analyses, calculates waveforms, and traces relationships in signal flow. Uses applicable test equipment, based on task at hand, to complete required maintenance. Provides technical guidance to lower level technicians. Performs organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance on assigned system; corrosion control on equipment/antenna; and site housekeeping. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for compliance to accepted practices. Qualified to operate primary system and 2 additional systems; perform maintenance on primary system, and 1 additional system. Documents maintenance actions in Site log and Integrated Enterprise Management System (IEMS). Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Work is occasionally performed in a shop or other facility environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, and vibration. Routine travel to remote site facilities may be involved. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
