The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for a full time Evidence Technician position in the Police Department. The range wage for the position is $19.28 per hour. Position receives City benefit package, which include single/family premium health insurance, KPERS, vacation, sick leave and holiday pay.

Under general supervision, position is responsible for maintaining and managing an adequate system for property and evidence; Ensuring quality and properly maintain the security of the evidence until needed for court or when it has been determined that the property or evidence can be disposed of or released to the rightful owner; Bilingual skills preferred but not required. May qualify for up to 7% bilingual pay after post-employment testing.

Position requires:

• High School diploma or equivalency.

• Ability to operate a computer and related software along with standard office equipment.

• International Association Property Evidence Certification.

• A valid Kansas Driver's license with a good driving record.

Acceptable candidates must undergo an extensive background investigation, substantial testing, polygraph exam, physical exam and must be a U.S. Citizen. Post background check, a clerical and typing test is required with a minimum score of 35 wpm on the typing test.
