Job Description:

Aon is looking for an Evidence Technician. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting Risk.

Position Overview

The Evidence Technician is responsible for locally handling the evidence retention process and other case-related items. Additional duties include overseeing the day-to-day operations and administration of the office to ensure it is run professionally and efficiently.

Essential Job Functions


  • Screen and quickly direct incoming calls to the appropriate employee.

  • Greet guests.

Evidence Handling

  • Manage onsite and offsite storage of all evidence.

  • Maintain highly organized and secure evidence room.

  • Receive all incoming evidence from clients or third parties and initiate Chain of Custody records.

  • Transfer evidence when requested.

  • Track evidence through hard copy Chain of Custody records.

Evidence Database Maintenance

  • Create new evidence listings in the database for all media associated by matter.

  • Ensure up-to-date database that reflects the correct location and assignment of all evidence.

  • Perform periodic checks of all evidence to ensure accuracy in database listings.

  • Conduct searches and create reports using the evidence database listings.

Hard Drive Reconciliation

  • Participate in the monthly hard drive count.

  • Conduct monthly hard drive reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.

Administrative & Operational

  • Maintain the professional appearance of the office.

  • Act as a liaison to vendors and building management.

  • Responsible for general administrative work such as correspondence, scanning, and data entry.

  • Assist with time reporting, including monitoring accuracy of staff timesheets.

  • Oversee office supply ordering and general needs within all areas of the office.

  • Handle building needs, office security and compliance issues.

  • Support all client-facing employees, when requested.

  • Maintain and track company assets.

  • Assist with preparation of expense reporting, including review and submit accounting presented by personnel and vendors.

  • Work with Operations team on quarterly, yearly and monthly audits, as well as assist with special projects.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and browser software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Perform highly detailed work with clear goals and minimal direction. Able to manage multiple priorities with flexibility and enthusiasm.

  • Work effectively and professionally with others.

  • General knowledge of computer hardware terminology preferred.

  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.

Work Experience Required

  • A minimum of 3 years of administrative or office management experience.
