JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Events Specialist, you are responsible for many essential functions to our marketing department. You are assigned to assist with tradeshow event management, research, coordination and management of virtual customer events, procurement and management of branded giveaways, marketing campaign coordination and incentive fulfillment, vendor communication, and sales team enablement. You will be integral to providing "Extraordinary Care" to customers, vendors, and employees. Valuable skills in marketing, communication, time management, and priority setting are needed to be successful in this position. The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking in front of an audience, can manage multiple priorities, is able to work independently to find solutions, and enjoys being part of a team environment. You are a key member to ensuring our marketing team runs efficiently and that our customers, vendors, and employees are empowered to achieve more and form long lasting relationships through creative, fun, and fulfilling marketing experiences.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
Coordinate and manage VLCM's participation and presence at national tradeshows and exhibition events
Coordinate and manage VLCM's digital customer experience events and activities
Work with VLCM's Field Events Manager to assist with regional in person customer experience events and activities including retreats, seminars, and customer appreciation events
Assist the entire marketing team with VLCM's annual marquee customer events
Coordinate procurement, delivery, shipping and inventory tracking of marketing materials like signage, collateral, branded giveaways, and clothing. Responsibilities include on-site organization, moving, and cataloging of items.
Manage lead generation and appt setting campaigns for VLCM's sales teams including lead passing, campaign tracking and incentive fulfillment
Assist with team data projects including but not limited to data entry, contact research, reporting, and segmentation of marketing contacts
Assist with the development of new marketing processes and tools
Track your marketing expenses and manage expenses against provided budgets
Provide ideas and contribute to a world-class marketing team

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in related field a plus, but not required
Events, marketing, or administrative background preferred
Strong initiative, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities
Confidence in speaking in front of an audience both in-person or virtually
Attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy in composing, typing and proofreading materials
Excellent computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
Experience with creative tools such as Adobe or Canva are a plus, but not required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to help pack, move, and lift boxes for live events
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
Organized and able to maintain accurate reports
Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
Dependable, reliable, able to plan work, and manage workload effectively
