The UC Davis School of Law is consistently ranked among the premier law schools in the United States overall and in terms of faculty and student quality and diversity. The school has over 600 Juris Doctor (JD) students enrolled in the full-time 3-year program, as well as a LL.M Program, certificates in Public Service Law, Business Law, Criminal Law, Environmental Law, Immigration Law, Intellectual Property Law and Tax Law, and Joint Degree programs, including JD/MBA, and JD/MA.

The budget for the Law School exceeds $40 million including state funds, tuition and professional fee revenue, gifts and endowments. Current market value of endowments exceeds $12 million. Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Events & Facility Manager, collaborate with units across the School of Law to develop, coordinate and execute programs and events geared to students, alumni, executives and other stakeholders. Provide event support for faculty conferences, donor stewardship activities, speaker events, advisory council meetings, commencement, social functions and various other events. Produce events that are consistent with the high standards of a professional school and deliver excellent customer service.

This position is initially a one-year contract with the possibility of extension or conversion to career.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Knowledge of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and production.

  • Organizational and time management skills, including skill in effectively coordinating and organizing multiple details and ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.

  • Interpersonal communication skills and political acumen, including skill in effectively representing the School and the University to its stakeholders.

  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills to recognize and deal effectively with real and potential problem areas.

  • Knowledge and skill to effectively and efficiently use Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Experience planning and coordinating academic or corporate programs, meetings, special events, ceremonies, and conferences.

  • Experience using Aggie Travel, Aventri, and Eventbrite.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Working knowledge of the campus resources and policies, especially those related to travel and entertainment and procurement.
