Purpose

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Events and Systems, the events program coordinator will serve as a critical member of the Talent Development team and provide primary programmatic event support for employee engagement and human resources and assist with recruitment efforts and learning and development logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the assistant director of events and systems to support logistical planning including thematic programing, scheduling, site visits, catering, budgets, reimbursements and communications for employee engagement events.

  • Provide support to the HR team with onboarding efforts and assist with event planning for new employee orientations including event prep, procurement, reimbursements and document maintenance.

  • Work with the Internal Communications team and serve as a point of contact to updated and maintain content for the organizational calendar of events on internal intranet.

  • Support the recruitment team with recruitment efforts and events and the learning and development team with logistical planning as needed.

  • In collaboration with HR, update, own and maintain the Texas Development org chart.

  • Provide scheduling/travel planning support to executive director as needed.

  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • One year+ experience assisting with event planning, project management or performing complex administrative functions.

  • Highly effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).

  • Able to work independently, under pressure and collaboratively with multiple teams.

  • Solution oriented problem-solving with a high degree of customer service.

  • Ability to use discretion, maintain integrity and a professional manner.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with an ability to learn organizational programs.

  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years+ experience assisting with event planning, project management or performing complex administrative functions.

  • Prior experience working in academia or an academic setting

Salary Range

$55,000 + depending on qualifications

  • May work early mornings or late days for event prep

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
