Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Event Manager to produce events from conception through completion. Our ideal candidate will be able to provide outstanding customer service and organize memorable events that meet the intended goals and expectations both creatively and consistently. S/he must be able to work well within time limits to plan, resource, and oversee the events. The abilities to multitask and prioritize are essential, as this role involves overseeing facilities as well as details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc. If you are organized, creative, and passionate about planning, we'd love to meet you!

Additional responsibilities

  • Development, production and delivery of projects from proposal right up to delivery.

  • Delivering events on time, within budget,

  • Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities

  • Providing leadership and event guidance to broader team as we deliver the event

  • Being responsible for all project budgets from start to finish including hotel, food and beverage and transportation requirements

  • Negotiate hotel contracts that meet business needs and provide maximum flexibility and benefit for the event

  • Manage Room blocks, scheduling and accommodations

  • Work through technology requirements, solicit A/V bids and manage AV vendors on-site

  • Managing supplier relationships and negotiating optimized solutions (and contracts) for various events.

  • Travelling to onsite inspections and project managing events

  • Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery

  • Familiar with consumer insights techniques and develops a strong working knowledge of the target consumer.

  • Acts as the link between client/brand and internal creative & technical while clearly leading content team through project requirements.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in event management or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing and executing large events, trades shows and/or conferences

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and organizing show plans for large (up-to 1000 attendees) and small (up-to 50 attendees) industry events; communicating plans to internal stake holders, and executing at events;

  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting for major events and conferences, including managing, maintaining and reconciling budget for each event

  • Must have experience working with Show Management, trade show labour, rigging, A/V, shipping, internet etc.

  • Ability to work with conference and event stakeholders, including executive leadership

  • Experience working with AV organizations and on-site AV teams in supporting the AV requirements and Run-of-Show for a large conference;

  • Experience in defining and overseeing F&B requirements for conferences in excess of 800 attendees;

  • Organize and execute customer receptions, overseeing all elements from definition, registration, catering, budgeting and follow-up.

  • Experience in performing site visits to assess suitability of conference facilities and hotels

  • Excellent project management skills

Position Summary: Bio-Techne seeks an event marketing professional with strong hands-on experience planning and executing events and programs. This person must have exceptional project management skills, be comfortable with logistics, and is highly collaborative. Critical you have demonstrated aptitude for successfully handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing trade shows and corporate events to drive global awareness and engagement with Bio-Techne. The position requires superior organization and communication skills, as well as being able to manage resources and budgets effectively and creatively. This is an Individual Contributor role responsible in collaboration with other global event planners.
